I didn't know what to expect at a ramen joint in a college town in New Brunswick, NJ. Typically, my experiences haven't been that good at an Asian anything near a college town outside of major cities. When my son told me that he decided to work here because of the food, I had to try it out (especially while he was working there). To my surprise, this place was comparable to any ramen joint in NYC, including St. Mark's area. Their takoyaki was crunch on the outside and had real plump chewy octopus inside with proper bonito flakes on top (better than most places in NYC). Kara age (fried chicken) was solid with delicious chili sauce. Edamame was little too salty for my taste, but was good nonetheless (my wife could not stop eating them). Ramens were solid. Tonkotsu ramen had more straight noodles than wavy ones, but that is what a proper tonkotsu ramen should have, but it was missing shredded red pickled gingers, but when I asked my son, I mean the wait staff, they brought it to me right away. With it, it was (almost) perfect. My wife's Osaka beef noodles reminded me of Taiwanese style beef noodles and Cantonese style beef noodles. If they served it with spicy chili oil, it would have been perfect. I am surprised that there is this type of quality ramen served in a college town of Rutgers New Brunswick. I wish that I had type of ramen joint when I went to college. Kids these days are so lucky...
Delicious Rakkii Ramen Resturant Staff is great and excellent customer service
Had a pretty good experience at Rakkii Ramen in Edison. Food was absolutely delicious and the art on the walls were gorgeous. One hundred percent recommend a stop here at this location. Cannot go wrong with the jasmine boba, the rakkii fries or the spicy miso or black garlic ramens. Now for my standard COVID comments as of March 2022. All employees are wearing masks and the indoor seating is relatively spaced out. Could end up being a little stuffy if crowded but I found it was comfortable on an average Friday evening for dinner.
Young crowd. Hip design. Good taste. I ordered the vegetarian soy broth ramen perfect remedy to a cold winter afternoon. The ambiance in the place is vibrant clean and young.
So delicious Friendly service Clean
Ordered a takeout and was pleasantly surprised by the speed and service. There also were some pleasant surprises like branded utensils, bowls with plastic inserts that hold noodles over the broth keeping it warm and dry.Great taste, awesome service. Thanks!
They say service makes the biggest difference in a restaurant. Not only was the food and options available very pleasing, but the owner was also very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions. We had a child with us and they made an order based on our needs. They even recommended parking options for us who were new to the area. varied food options on the menu and the food was great. Worth a visit!
Haven't tried their ramen but their mochi are absolutely terrible: triple amount of sugar and the rice flour shell is dry and crunchy. Crunchy! They covered the mochi with whipped cream, cheap vanilla ice cream, and chocolate. How dare they still call that mochi?Teriyaki chicken was ok but rice was not at all Japanese style, dry and tasteless. Gyoza was tolerable but crunchy as nachos.
Stopped for a quick lunch. Accidentally ate entire curry chicken bowl after resolving to eat half! Quick and fresh. Daughter loved Tonkatsu Ramen and bubble tea. We’ll be back!
Good took longer than they gave me a time frame for. Restaurant was empty you cannot wait in the restaurant for food but only if you’re at a table. I was asked to wait out front bc it mattered where I stood. Not to mention every party of my order was wrong when it was for mySon in the icu. Will never order fromHere again.
