Food is delicious but need more flavor unfortunately. The people was so polite and patient w me and my friend because we had tons of questions about their food. It was our first time eating at this restaurant. I recommend this place the Whiting Fish was delicious but the beans wasn't as flavorful. I would come back for the Whiting Fish..?
So I called this restaurant prior to going in and asked “Do you have Pernil ready right now” they tell me yes. I get there and it took ten minutes for them even acknowledge me or realize I was there. I’m finally not a ghost and they greet me and then tell me they don’t have it until 530! Place is a joke. Brain dead employees, they even had issues with charging customers wrong amounts and not knowing what prices of their own menu was with another customer. Not going back they’re brain dead.
Went in. The pork was prepared days ago. The fish was frozen and then deep fried. The only decent thing was the rice. The service was horrible and we felt like they were offended when we wanted to dine in. Thankfully I will never eat here again.
Ok lets start by saying 4.4 stars is beyond absurdTime to pull their cardFirst of all, la poncena fell off like 15 yrs agoThe quality of the food has gone down drasticallyThe cheese empanadas now have the cheap cheese not mozzarellaLike alot of restaurantsTheyre cutting corners to save moneyBut in the end its the customers that sufferBut they dont careTerribleThe prices of food go up but never the quality of the foodMaybe thats why business isnt boomingIts time to retireSorryWont eat there again
Went here for lunch order the stew chicken, with white rice comes with green salad and sweet plantain. The food is pre made food is served from the counter kitchen. Good taste like your Puerto Rican auntie or mom made it. The food has good taste, restaurant has a couple of table to sit, or you can order food to go. I also order alcapuria and empanadas had good taste and food was warm. The staff is friendly and attentive. The average meal cost $12.00. the parking can hassle since street parking, so if near the area is better to walk there.
Definitely THE most Clean and great tasting Puerto Ricsan food in ALL of New Brunswick!! They start early too. Made fresh everyday, great selection as well. I haven't had 1 dish there that I didn't enjoy. From the steak to the chicken from the rice or potato balls from the empanadas to the cheese cake. A MUST place to visit if you enjoy authentic cuisine from the island of Puerto ?? Rico.
The food used to be good. They must have new cooks. They run out of food and there is a long wait until they prepare more food. The beef dinner was bland the yellow rice with gandules bland no flavor at all. I dont know what is going on here but back in the day the food was better now its just dont taste right this place is going downhill SMH?
Food was awesome....I had the bacalao guisado, my husband the Pollo guisado, they were both delicious. I ordered a dozen of pasteles for Thanksgiving....ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Will be making a 45 min drive again for another dozen. Service was good everyone was very friendly. I give it 5 ? ? ? ? ? went back and omg their Morongo!!!
Update: below was my original review, but the owner was extremely apologetic and definitely made up for this miscommunication… thank you for great service and for rectifying the situationI ordered a pernil for my employees for a Thanksgiving potluck. I prepaid and scheduled to have it picked up at 1:30 on 11/26. They called me and asked to pick it up early and when I got here they were CLOSED!!!!!! Thanks a lot for embarrassing me by not having the main part of our meal. How does this happen?!
Like Puertorican food done well? Come here! Excellent arroz con gamdules, pernil, chicharron, empanadas and Morongo. Also the lightest lemon cake I've had in a long time. Will be back often !
