Came here with my husband for our anniversary and the service was great and super attentive! I never ran out of water once. The food was fantastic. As soon as we finished one appetizer, they brought out the next. I had the raw oysters and the sauce they provided was a burst of flavor. The escargot had me licking my fingers. Once we finished out apps, they promptly brought out the entrees. Fantastic meals! Perfect portion sizes. We finished off with some carrot cake and cheesecake. We left full and super satisfied. The interior is beautiful and cozy and the vibes are friendly and light.
One of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Sides were antiquated but overall the apps and the steak were absolutely amazing. Shout outs to Walter. Awesome server.
One of our favorite restaurants; continuiing under the great ownership of Desmond and Alice Lloyd and Maitre’D Walter. Them and their staff are wonderful accomodating people who miss no attempt at making being there a terrific night out. Quintessential upscale town house with classic bar. Always decorated wonderfully for the holidays…not to mention St Patrick’s Day. The chef puts out a lot of great dishes: house-smoked salmon which is a good as any you’ll find around; perfect steak tartare; lobster bisque; some nice Asian stir-fried options, and the tuna dishes are always delicious. Loved the seared ahi tuna on top of a bed of thin soba noodles with wasabi piping and fresh ginger. Dover Sole Meunier is usually a special, and always delicious; as is the pork chop and rack of lamb. Excellent friendly waitstaff. A place that never misses a beat. During the warmer months, it has an expensive lengthy covered patio terrace for perfect outdoor dining, overlooking the small park that adjoins it. Go Grand Cafe!
Made a reservation to eat here on Saturday evening after a snowstorm where we got 3-4 inches of snow. I called them all afternoon to learn if they were open to only get their standard automated voicemail. We checked their facebook account to see if they were still open and everything looked normal. We stilled showed up since they never contacted us to cancel. When we arrived we found a sign on the door stating they were closed due the snow. I would have really appreciated a call back or message on the voicemail stating they were closed. Was very disappointed since we planned on eating dinner here right after my engagement and had to scramble to find another place in town to celebrate. It was 10 degrees and most restaurants thankfully in town were open by that point. Was looking forward to eating here also.
The Grand Cafe is actually GRAND. It's old school in a formal way with a proper host and exceptional wait staff. Great food and beverage options... flexible menu (you can get what you want) and just a nice, polished feel. It's less formal than it used to be (jackets and ties for men), but still folks looked "nice" with no sneakers and didnt really see jeans.
Beautiful place. Our company had a holiday party here. Loved the atmosphere, food, and all the wine served. Highly recommend

Never fails. We love the seafood or crab crepe, and pretty much anything we get here. Been coming for special date nights for the last 4 years, and never disappoints
