A great BYOB pizza joint in Morristown. Nice to have the option of wood-fired or coal-fired pies. The White Truffle & Prosciutto Pie is a must try! The truffle oil blended with homemade mozzarella, parmigiano, and reggiano cheeses, in addition to the wood-fired char is simply delicious. Meatballs are good but not a must have for my husband and I.Service can be hit or miss. I’ve had excellent service even when the restaurant has been jam packed. On the other hand, I’ve also had servers who seem like it’s a chore to simply take your order. Regardless of our server, pizzas have always come out rather quickly, which is especially impressive as we’ve visited during peak times with a full restaurant.
My husband and I ordered in from Millie's yesterday. Their Arcadia salad was very good ...BUT their 'fresh spinach pizza' was disgusting. I'd love to use another word, but disgusting fits the bill. We opened the pizza box for the big reveal: a small soggy dough...with spinach leaves all over it drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It was like somebody bought a crappy pie do-it -yourself pie crust, opened up a bag of spinach leaves from the supermarket and dumped it haphazardly on top. I kid you not. Where was the parmagiana reggiana; where was the fig spread, etc??? The written description did not at all match what we received. Just a soggy soggy crust with leaves. Not acceptable. And we paid a lot of money for this poor excuse for a pizza, too. We had hoped to love your restaurant- but we were very disappointed instead. ???
Was a regular, but I guess they recently changed meatball “platters” from 3 decent to just 2 small meatballs (for $14) not enough to fill you up. Better be good for a small $7 meatball! which they are but wasn’t sure if 3 of em was worth it for barey filling ya up now that you only get 2 smaller ones per “platter” I can’t say it’s worth it anymore. You’ll still be hungry. A shame that you don’t get a choice of platter size either.
Do NOT Go Here!! I gave this place another chance after 3 years. 4 adults, 4 kids for a 13th birthday dinner on 4/09/22. Ordered food close to 6:40, by 8:00pm bill was paid (tipped very well) , kids were finishing cake, we still had wine in our glasses, when some small man with glasses came to our table told us we have been there long enough and we needed to leave and other tables needed to be seated. We were shocked and absolutely offended!! There was no one waiting to be seated, no time restriction on seating just basically kicked us out! The place was almost empty when we walked by an hour later. I have worked in the service industry so I always treat people with kindness and respect. I will NEVER spend another penny in this establishment or refer this place to anyone.
The pizza at Millie's is very good, as was the salad we ordered . My husband had the meatballs and said they were just ok. However, the service was very disappointing. I really hate to write a poor review about a small business, especially as a former server myself, but it was so lackluster it was noticeable and I must share. When I arrived with my son in a stroller, there were five staff members huddled around the host stand and they just watched me struggle with the front door instead of helping me open it. Then no one greeted us, they just kind of stared. I asked for a table and they acted as if they didn't want to sit us because "we didn't have a reservation," but it was 5 pm and only 2 other tables were taken. Just very disappointing. The manager was very kind to us but the staff acted like we were an inconvenience. Really too bad.
For paying 16$ for a personal Margherita pizza it was a waste. The pie was burned. 1 piece of basil on top, and it wasn't even cut. Also super hard and chewy. Will not be coming back. Really disappointed as I had heard it was a good place.
We had dinner before a show at the Mayo, location is great for pre-show. After being ignored by the front desk for a bit we told to "take a table" with no menu or QR code to scan for menu. Wait staff was fine but watching the clean-up on other tables, I didn't see any sanitizing, just new plates/utensil set-up. Food came quickly and so did the gnats.
Has become a go-to when in morristown and are in the mood for a pie, have a few people, and want to stay on the Main Street. It’s a good place for 4+ people. I’d reconfirm they have your reservation the day of though, it seemed as though they were not ready for us (but luckily had tables to throw together).Meatballs - 4 stars. They have a variety of them, but my favorite are the meatballs in Marinara sauce with mozzarella. Pics in this post don’t have the meatballs. The MEATBALLS WITH WARM RICOTTA, PARMESAN (w/VODKA) are good.Pizza - 4.5 stars. The woodfired pizza is your traditional neapolitan one (smaller than the coal fired). The four cheese and sopressata are our go-to’s.The coal fired pizza has a thicker dough but i personally find delicious. although it’s a little thicker - it’s perfectly balanced (crunch, softness) and supports the toppings! The mashed potato pie one tasted oddly delicious. Maybe if they topped it with a hint of gravy it’d be AMAZING (hint hint!).Sandwiches - only tried the eggplant parm but it’s 4 starts. Good bread, good sauce, good amount of eggplant / cheese.
Wow wow and yum! Great atmosphere, and superb food. The meatballs are amazing and the pizza is some of the best I've ever had. The only thing lacking was fairly abysmal service in a basically empty restaurant.
I waited over an hour for my delivery and then the hostess and the manager were extremely rude to me saying it’s only an hour behind as if I should not be complaining about the delayed delivery. The manager said to me we’re shortstaffed what else do you want me to do I totally understand that but then do not accept additional orders if you cannot handle it. I think the manager handled it completely unprofessional Then and basically argued with me about my complaint.
