It's just ok. I ordered a bowl and overall it tasted good but the portion is a little small, not sure if this is because I ordered ahead for pickup. My base was couscous and mixed greens and there was only a very small portion of couscous buried under the greens. It seems each topping is also strictly portion controlled as there was not a lot of any one topping. The hummus scoops looked to be from a cookie dough sized scoop. The bowl was a little over half full and costs about $14. Even so it's a tasty light lunch option.
They never have the containers filled, every time I ask for chickpeas they are always scraping the very bottom. They also only give you a tiny scoop of chickpeas on your base, why be so skimpy with beans it's cheap? They should also offer rice as one of the bowl bases.All the meats look like they were cut by a blindfolded toddler. Some of the meat is chopped up fine and other pieces are larger all inconsistent and dry looking. None of the meats are appetizing to look at at all. The steak looks like it is processed meat patties.They could make this concept way better if they just went to Cava and emulated them.
Meh. I have still yet to find decent Middle Eastern food in Morris County. I grew up eating Middle Eastern food, from Lebanese, to Israeli, to Turkish, Syrian, etc. maybe I have too high expectations.I ordered a catered office lunch. Got chicken Shawarma and falafel wrap sampler‘s as well as a appetizer platter. Falafel was not fresh and dry. Hummus was dry and pasty. Where’s toum (garlic sauce?) or hot sauce? Ugh. They were prompt with delivery and it’s okay. Nothing special. For now will continue to travel to NYC or Paterson
I’ve been to this restaurant many times and every time I’m there the food tastes as if it was made minutes ago. This restaurant is set up as a Mediterranean chipotle and it works perfectly. If you order a bowl don’t forget to ask for pita bread! Supposedly The bowl comes with bread but if you forget to ask you probably won’t get any. Make sure you wash it all down with one of there many lemonades you will not be disappointed.
Amazing, fresh and flavorful food! Perfect for vegetarians with tons of options to customize your meal! Love their flavored lemonades! Will be sure to return!
First time at Hummus Republic & I am so excited to have finally stumbled upon the perfect Mediterranean place.Convenient and fast, great food, presentation but most importantly amazing Staff!!!Hershel (might have butchered that spelling lol) was so welcoming and friendly. He made me fresh falafel so that my bowl would be warm and deliciousWill be going back again for sure!!!
Food was delicious, tons of options for toppings on bowls and pitas, all delicious. Pita bread was fresh, soft, and pretty near perfect. Two small flaws for me though:1. Not enough hot options. I got the chick peas because they were “warm,” but they were barely so. Meat felt room temperature to me, neither hot nor refrigerator cold2. Their website allowed me to specify a delivery time, but then they came a full half hour early. Early is better than late, but why give me the option to schedule a time if you don’t honor it?Overall good though—the flavor and quality, and overall healthiness of the cuisine will have me coming back.
Always excited to eat here. I have been here a few times already, but never get enough of it. The ingredients are all fresh and delicious. Definitely should try this place
We love love love this place! I remember when we found them on the South street few days after they opened since then this is our favorite place to get lunch. Food always delicious, ingredients are fresh and a lot of choices (vegan, vegetarian). If you’re looking for good healthy food for takeout, this place is exactly what you need! Try their pita with eggplant hummus, shawarma chicken and chopped salad(also you can choose as many toppings as you want)! 12/10 meal. Way better than expected. Will order again soon! I got a pita with feta and falafel with a side of dolmades. Yum!
