Came here for sunday football around 12:30pm. Just wanted to grab some apps, drinks and watch the game. I would rate the food a 2.5 - the pretzel was big but it was burnt on the outside so we didn't finish it. The mozzarella sticks were good, but they're pretty hard to mess up, and the buffalo wings were average. There's definitely places in Morristown with better wings. Service is a 3 - we stood at the podium for about 5 minutes before we were told we could seat ourselves. With Covid, I thought they would prefer to seat people to social distance accordingly. It took a long time to order drinks and even longer to order food. We debated going up the bar to order food there since the waitress wasn't coming over to the table. I would return to only drink and watch the game, not to order food. I would also order 2 drinks at a time to offset the long wait times.
Stopped in after seeing Top Gun at the AMC on Thursday the 23rd , amazing movie, and the Horseshoe Tavern was the right place for us. We had the sliders, cauliflower taco and the wings and they all did not disappoint. I mentioned the date because our server worked effortlessly for everyone in the place and with a smile.
Bartender/server was exceptional helping provide for the kids
I give them a 5 for Value and quality of Food. Great value for happy hour. The chicken wings were the best I've had, nice tender meat, the dry rub was great. Had the cowboy steak twice and very good, although thinner cut, price is worth it. 6 people in our party, had cowboy steak, Drunken chicken, Ruben sandwiches, Ribs. Everyone loved their meals. I have be here twice and will be going back.
Went for a comedy show. That was great! Food was phenomenal (I had short rib lasagna, but others I was with said the wings, burger and loaded tots were great as well). Price for food and drinks was way under what I expected for Morristown, so that was an added plus. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because as soon as the comedy show was over, and you were still sitting there with a drink, it turned into a club scene (sorry, not my music) in the same upstairs space. It looked like most people knew to leave. Treasure hunt: find the tiny horse shoe.
You know the frat bros that frequent your place please try to make it a safer spot as I have seen in other reviews this is not the first review concerning spiked drinks and rowdy men, as a friend of mines drink was spiked last weekend please do better. Also a couple people messaged me saying they’re not surprised y’all have a reputation
Great bar. Good food and drinks. Really loved the flat bread.
I was attracted to this tavern because of the aesthetic appeal and the live music, but the crowd is not friendly, or a "well-natured" crowd. I've seen fights break out and arguments, people getting aggressive. I feel it's more of a danger, risk coming here because you just never know what's going to happen, and there's a huge lack of safety. "Tavern" also makes me think of "warm, welcoming," like places overseas, with good home-style food, and Horseshoe misses the mark entirely. Plus, I'd prefer to be able to go out and enjoy my food/drinks, and not have something placed in it by a cowardly scumbag.
Exactly what you want from a local sports bar. Quick service, modest beer selection and good pub food.
Came here on Sunday to watch a game and have something to eat. There is a Sunday GameDay Menu (including drink specials). The regular menu was not available. The wings were not breaded (which I liked) but crisp and tasty with the Buffalo sauce. I asked for a side of the habenero sauce which was HOT but tasty. The chili nachos were pretty good. There was a club like atmosphere with an MC and DJ. Music was played during commercials. A bit loud but was fun. They also had free raffle for a large tv!! The staff were friendly and professional. I would go again with friends.
