Very nice place, service was great, the tacos birria are DELICIOUS, and the all meat torta loka was huge and very tasty, natural juices are also very good..I highly recommend, I will definitely be back.
This place is wonderful, really happy we’ve got an authentic Mexican spot in Upper Montclair! Great for vegetarians, as their online ordering system allows for complete customization. Our absolute favorite is the cheese torta (torta de quesillo), which is ENORMOUS and easily feeds 2 adults. We get rajas, chipotle, pineapple, and all the other veggie options on it. The burrito bowl is also huge, lots of guac, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. All burritos/burrito bowls are $7 on Wednesdays, a good value for the amount of food you get. The bowl comes with a red and green sauce, both incredible.We tried ordering vegetarian tacos, but it was tough to do online and they ended up not coming with beans. The tacos are also street taco size, which is smaller than a regular corn tortilla. Since the torta and burrito bowls are so good, we just stick with those favorites. Online ordering is easy, they take Apple Pay, and it’s always quick, fresh, and cheap. A great takeout option! They’re open to 10pm every night.
Delicious fresh and authentic. I highly recommend visiting Tortas Lokas in Upper Montclair's downtown. The guac and chips were fresh, we enjoyed the tacos of chicken, steak and pork. A jaritos tamarindo flavored soda to top it off. Beautiful decor inside. And a pleasure for BYOB within dining with available outdoor seating.
Ordered here on Taco Tuesday for the first time. My husband and I ordered a variety of different types of tacos and guacamole on the side for take out. Food was ready within 10min of placing my order. Pick up was super easy and everything was packed and ready to go when I arrived. We thought the tacos and guacamole were delicious. Can’t beat the value for $1 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Great value. We will definitely be back for more.
I’m a big burrito fan. Was excited to hear about this place on this side of Montclair. It didn’t disappoint. Everything was good quality. The burritos are pretty large and come with a side. The tacos are a bit light but great. The chips are stellar. They provide three sauces for the table as well. The burrito bowl was grand. And they actually use talk guac on all the food whereas a lot of places use some replacement. Even the chicken strips with fries were enjoyed. The prices are fair and they have various discount days. Definitely going back.
I've had a lot of Mexican food and sampled terrible and amazing dishes. I'm very happy to say that this place is in my top 10. I came here a few times, mostly for the taco Tuesday sale because I'm a college student, but the flavors are amazing, you can tell they take no shortcuts. Along with this, the staff is very friendly and made the dining experience even better. It's safe to say I'll be coming here many times more.
Ordered beef burrito without tomato. Got a chicken burrito with everything in it. Go figure. It’s 90% lettuce, tomato and lit bit of rice and (chicken) meat. Taco Bell and chipotle does it better.
Food never came after two hours after ordering. Gave up and cancelled
This is strictly a review for the tacos. Let me tell you I'm blown away of how good the tacos are. I eat Mexican very often and this is my new fave location.They also have delicious what seems like homemade hot sauce.Also great customer service, I would come back here again for authentic food.
My wife and I ate here over the weekend and ordered the Tortas Lokas and Nachos. The food was great with large portions, while also being very affordable. We will definitely be coming back soon!
