100% wonderful first time experience at Sweet T's. We had a 7pm reservation for 3 people on a Friday evening. We were seated promptly. Staff was professional, friendly, and alert. Food was top notch, and our South Carolina native guest gave an ecstatic 2 thumbs up for the food. Shaunie had our table, and was perfectly intuitive in providing genuine care and service, truly the cherry on top of our overall experience, thanks Shaunie! Restaurant got much busier as we approached closer to 8:45, if that helps anyone anticipate making reservations. (Optionally vegan) collard greens were fantastic, and I had the lamb cheesesteak that was out of this world. My guests had shrimp and grits, and the crab cakes with grits, and loved it. If you are not familiar with Montclair, I recommend giving yourself a little extra time for parking, but if you check ahead, there is a deck nearby or even residential street parking a few blocks away. Notes: BYO, cc surcharge (I prefer to call it "cash discount"), gratuity included. We were gracefully informed in person although it was very nice learning here before arriving, thanks, reviewers! I found this Resturant from a review on a TV show. I put it in my Resturant list and soooo glad I did. My Family is from the south and they did us justice up hear in the north. Highly recommend you check out this place. I will be back. Great lunch almost too full to eat dinner that evening.
Everything was good until the outdoor portion. Seating underneath the tent was fine but there is no air circulation under the tent. All that heat gets trapped under the tent making it very uncomfortable. While offering hookah for the outdoor is amazing thing because hookah is becoming very popular, but being trapped underneath the tent, with no air circulation is not good. The food was amazing! The peach cobbler ice tea and sweet tea was on point but drinks did get warm after some time. I would go back but not to eat outdoor.
Sweet Tâs is a great experience and eve food is delicious. You must go and try the smothered turkey legs. The cat fish is fresh and the Mac & Cheese is scrumptious. Make a reservation.
Food was okay, but the owner and her ways killed my first time experience. She wasnât willing to provide an appropriate take out bag to hold our 4 carton of food (we spent about $150 total) and when we wanted to switch tables (from outside to inside) she said none was available yet I was able to immediately book on open table for an inside table. Sheâs the worst and would not return because of her poor customer service.
The food and service was great. My mom didnât like the fried catfish but they switch it with no problem. She got the grilled catfish and loved it. Such a wonder atmosphere
