Very nice, authentic place with very good price of BYOB policy (you can call local liquor shop and they can deliver within 5 mins)Food are decent and great. Freshly baked breads and pizza.A most go if you wanna dine out in Montclair

The appearance on the outside is not very inviting with furniture and heat lamps stacked up in front of the Restaurant. They had a private party going on and I went on Mother's Day so it was extremely busy. Old and outdated setting not classic. The Host was also taking everyone's order. Everyone's pasta at my table was undercooked and even raw. I told the Host but he never apologized for it or even offered to take something off the bill. They were out of a few things and the menu was altered from the one I originally viewed on their website over a week ago. Which was Not Good!!! I will never go back their again.

Can’t speak to the price because I was here for a private event but holy lord, the food was amazing! And it’s such a nice little corner place. Every brick reminds you this place has stories to tell!

I was excited to try their artichoke flour pizza but was a bit disappointed. 22.00 for a gluten free personal size pizza and I know I ordered prosciutto on it but it was really salty and tasted a bit strange. I didn't complain because I hadn't eaten all day and was so hungry. My husband ordered the orecchiette pasta dish and said mine was so much better. So we paid a lot of money for mediocre food. Our server was attentive so that was nice.

First the good. Great pasta fagioli. Nice barata with eggplant caponata- though smaller portion than I expected for the price. Waitress was responsive and nice. Now the bad— prices feel 15-20% higher than other, better local options. Wanted to eat outside (table was set out there and it was 45 minutes before closing.) We were told no. Inside acoustics make it brutal In terms of sound volume. Charging 4% to use a credit card adds insult to injury. Part of a restaurant group that owns multiple locations in Montclair. Paying a hefty price for their overhead

New owners and hostess are the most rude. We had a 7.30 reservation and would not give answer for seating time. Said the table was there at 5 and still had more than an hour. Not once apologized and tried to curse me for even questioning . Could not pay me to eat there.

Have been to Salute multiple times and it is wonderful. Beautiful rustic atmosphere, nice staff, simply delicious food. From everything to appetizers, salads the rosemary bread I would highly recommend Salute and will be back. Will note there’s a credit card fee but this hasn’t been an issue. Byob and outdoor dining is nice.

One of the best places around, especially if you’re gluten free. They have gluten free pizza and their gluten free pasta is by far the best I’ve had in this area and cooked to al dente perfection. Fresh ingredients, great service, very attentive. Everything we’ve had has been full of flavor and I have never gotten sick eating here with my allergy. Additionally, I absolutely love the ambiance. Warm, glowy lighting, exposed brick, beautiful decor - It’s the perfect place for a night out with friends or a romantic evening. Top notch.

Been here in the past and the food was good. Yesterday everything but the steak was pretty bad. The food was like your neighborhood pizza. From the tasteless hero bread to the fake rock shrimp. Might as well saved some money and gone to Olive Garden. And for those outdoor heaters stored inside the restaurant.

Long review but worthwhile…Our church group decided to meet here as a culminating activity for our Bible study group. When I tell you this was a test of all I’ve learned about the love of the Lord please believe it.Let’s start with the hostess. She was not welcoming at all on definitely acted like we didn’t belong there. She questioned us multiple times about our reservation as if there were that many parties of 12 at the same time. She didn’t walk us to our table. Instead she POINTED towards the back tables that were set up and we walked ourselves to the table. This was just an absolute omen for what was to come.We had appetizers family style and they were definitely mediocre at best. I didn’t have high expectations because this was a restaurant with 3.5 rating on Yelp already and I think the apps were a perfect 3/5 so it was right on target. I saw a review of someone saying their steak was doused in balsamic vinaigrette, I definitely can cosign that. Even for a medium steak it was was too chewy and if it wasn’t for the dousing, it wouldn’t have any taste at all. Huge disappointment.Things just got worse….We had a pre-fixe menu that was completely misrepresented when our reservation was made. So when we received the bill we had a huge problem with the total. The issue wasn’t something that could not be resolved but it’s how we had to arrive at the resolution that made us the most uncomfortable. I understand the manager was simply doing what he told, and we were a church group so we were absolutely mindful of our tone and approach. We asked for the owner’s contact information because he lied and said the owner wasn’t there. HE WAS SITTING AT THE TABKE NEXT TO US! Thank you Google! Too bad we didn’t know until after we paid.Long story short, they misrepresented the menu, intentional or not, and we had to work it out. We met at a place that didn’t necessarily make us happy as customers, but was better than where we started. The unfortunate part was when he threatened to call the police to resolve the bill, a weak negotiation technique that he saw didn’t work. The next sad part was the way waitress (who I am sure is the one referenced in other reviews talking about the terrible disposition of a waitress) decided to add her two cents to a situation she knew nothing about. Not like she was even our waitress! She pulled down her mask, so we would hear her loud and clear, and said in her most judgmental tone “you should have known better when you come here”. I can 100% guarantee you she would not have said that if I wasn’t a Black man. I don’t say that about people often, but IF YOU KNOW, you know. She didn’t stop at that, she made childish gestures towards us, you know, the customers, without being told to stop by anyone. Deplorable behavior. You never know who you are treating a certain way so treat everyone with respect. I say that because our church group members include people with 100k followers on social media and we love to share our experiences with the world. We will let the Lord sort this one out but a review sharing our experience at this place is a must.Long story short….mediocre food, unconscionable prices, horrible customer service, and an unpublished credit card usage charge (who does that aside from gas stations??) is all you need to know about this restaurant. I can’t help but wonder if this is what contributed to the demise of Gerry Cerrigone’s other restaurants in the area.My advice is to stay away. Plenty delicious restaurant’s serving the same cuisine in the area. Really makes us miss Nauna’s and Marzullo’s in Montclair.
