I would consider it a nice place with nice food but waiting time ruines it for me. Each time it is 15 minutes or more of wait for one smoothie. Happened several times consequently. Last time they forgot my order ( after i waites for 20 minutes) and I was late for work.
I ordered two bowls, one for me and one for my mom. My mom added extra stuff to her order and when we got it there was none of the extra toppings that I asked for. And she could barely even eat it before she found two strands of hair in her food. I'm not really that mad which is why I'm only giving three stars but I'm still somewhat disappointed. The lady that I spoked to on the phone was really sweet however.
We used to absolutely love this location. But recently it's clear the staff doesn't care at all. No kind greetings and they're more interested in conversations among each other and texting.Presentation and care for the orders has definitely gone down. Today we went to pick up our order, at first it seemed like they didn't even know where or what our order was. This also seemed to be the case with many other orders when people showed up.Finally they find our receipt and begin making our order, this is now almost 30 minutes. Finally our two bowls had clearly been sitting out on the counter while waiting for a smoothie because they were liquid.The smoothie looked nothing like it used to and tasted completely wrong to the point where I went home and remade it in the blender.After these multiple bad experiences I can't see us coming back. I expect more care and service for the price.
I always go to the playa bowl in Montclair and the staff is great! They are fast, polite and the place is clean. Also I love that the fruits are always very fresh.I have gotten a few bowls but my favorite is Coconut Craze.
Refreshing meal/snack. Located right in the heart of downtown Montclair. Make it a self-care day. Arc is around the corner to get your eyebrows. There is a massage spot nearby. Check out Culture couture to stock on your sage and grab some refreshing ACAI bowl. Its a bit pricey at $12/bowl yet the combo of crunchy granola and sweets is a great treat??
Terrible, just had a green base bowl and almost swallowed a piece of metal mixed in the green base of the bowl! Showed a male woking beh8nd the counter, said sorry and that was it. He threw it away and I spoke with the cashier who wanted to see the pieces of metal and he said oh it looked like a staple but could not find the piece in the garbage!! Horrible! Stay away!! Never going back to a Playa Bowl again!
Prior to this experience, I LOVED always coming to this location as I am a huge fan of these fruit bowls. As I am eating my playa bowl, I bit into something very chewy, but it was never ending until I pulled it out my mouth. Inside my bowl I found this rubber as shown in the picture. I spent a little over 25 dollars on two bowls for my Fiancé and I. Therefore, I expect to enjoy it and not find debris in it. Highly disappointed !
This place is awesome. The service is always with a smile. They are very fast and the bowls taste like they’re made with love.
I love the Pura Vida bowl. I usually get extra granola because I have so much extra acai left after I wat the fruit. I love that this place opens early because I like to eat these bowls in the morning.
I have seen the customer service and level of care decline with both Montclair and Morristown locations. At first I figured like all business there has been difficulty maintaining staff related to the pandemic but even on slow days with full staffing I am often left disappointed, no longer worth it for me.
