First time here and we sat outside. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Our food was just ok though. The flavors didn't pop out at us. We took our leftovers home and tried to finish it next day but the meat from both of our dishes didn't taste good at all so we couldn't finish it.
Ordered the Greek salad and the gluten-free chicken fingers.The chicken fingers were ok and they only provided 3 small chicken fingers which was disappointing.The Greek salad was delicious.The service was avarage and the restaurant was quaint.It's very much like a diner.
Love the area, dog friendly, family friendly, ate outside, no wait time for seating. Fresh squeeze OJ really do advise ?. My youngest had pancakes and she is very picky but these were a hit!!!
Went there with my family, 2 adults and 2 kids. Food was really good. Kids had a creamy penne vodka sauce and wife and I had the special salmon (broiled with potatoes and asparagus). Food was tasty, salmon came on point. Server was attentive too.
The breakfast menu had many options. I chose the Mediterranean Skillet. It was Delicious! The Customer Service was excellent.
Food was good, staff was really nice, we were seated quick! Great value the huevos skillet was delicious!
Giving this place a 4 star because the food was very good. Luckily the food was very good and my server was super attentive because no one acknowledged me upon entering and the owner or host or whatever he was, was too busy socializing to even bother to seat me or even say, "one moment please!" He just kept staring at me like I was such a bother. He finally finished his chatting and came over to seat me. Maybe just the out of towners get treated this way. I ordered the avocado toast which was excellent. It had a Greek flair with feta cheese and eggs and it was delicious.
My experience is based off ordering out. Whole meal was missing. Wife's omelet didn't have feta even tho we paid extra for it. Turkey sausage could be better. Over all just ok. Tried it because my wife is gluten intolerant. She Appreciated the many options they had for that.

Always good eats! The owners and Staff are amazing. Montclair has plenty of options for food but Montclair Grill House has never once missed a step. I have probably tried close to everything on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. It's not as bouji as some of the other places in Montclair and is a typical NJ diner with awesome food. Date night would be fine in the summer as you are sitting outside....but it's not a Date night spot. It's more of a "I'm hungry and want to eat good food" spot.
