I grew up eating pastrami sandwiches. Coopers, in Newark, Eppen Essen in Livingston, and back in the day Don’s restaurant. Ugh. Just showed my age! As an adult Katz Deli and Ben’s in NYC. Smoked meat in Montreal is amazing. My point is pastrami sandwiches are no stranger to me. Mikki and Al’s makes a delicious sandwich. I found it to be a tad too salty. But overall I enjoyed their pastrami sandwich! Because of the size I only ate half. The meat has a nice peppery kick and a very pleasant flavor profile. The pickle on the side is good too. My sandwich included sauerkraut which adds an additional layer of flavor. The price is what I expect in Montclair so it is no surprise.I say try a sandwich. You never know if you like it till you experience one yourself. I will go back in the near future. Hopefully the second pastrami sandwich will be just as delightful as the first. ?
As a professional reviewer, I was very pleased with this restaurant. I have now been a jew for almost 38 years now. I have eaten at many kosher restaurants, and also "kosher style" restaurants. Well yesterday I was starving at work and I am so sick of the food around my area in newark. So I went on doordash and I saw this place. I only ordered a hot dog and potato lakta for my first go around. Now my office is probally about a 18 mins drive from this establishment. So thats a long distance for the food to travel before consumption. I honestly can say the hot dog with kraut and mustard and potato lakta was delicious! I can only imagine how good this would of been if only I actually was able to eat it in the actual restaurant!. I will be going out of my way to visit this restaurant. I cannot say right now, but if I had to bet, I would say the rest of their menu is delicious and fresh!
Hands down one of the best pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever eaten!! The sandwich is a little pricey but it’s worth it. As you can see they aren’t selfish with the meat. Love this place!
everything has been great , the sloppy joe and chicken soup are my favorites
If you are a pastrami connoisseur, this hidden gem is a must try spot! I can’t say enough good things about this spot. The pastrami is cut right in front of you. The place is spotless.. staff are friendly and the pastrami is the best you will ever have.
Hands-down, this was the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had. The meat and the bread were so tender and soft that they just melted like butter. I cannot wait to go back!
Incredible deli. The Matzo Ball Soup is so delicious! So comforting. Pastrami is next level also! Don't sleep on this spot. My name is Ciphurphace and I approve this message.
While the pastrami is good, it is best eaten there. The egg cream was well disappointing. I have been drinking them for years and that one was not good. The slaw , great. The rugalah was doughy and under cooked.
Paid almost 50$ including tip for very small plates. Ordered the roast beef sandwich, pastrami sandwich, order of fries and 2 ginger ales. Pastrami was fatty and the bread was soggy, Fries were undercooked. The server rolled her eyes because we asked for more ketchup than the four packets that were given to us. Not once did anyone ask if we were ok or needed anything. Not a very friendly vibe in there. I left there still hungry and got pizza down the street.
The food is awesome
