My friend ordered a triple chocolate mousse cake 4 days prior to the day we needed it. I went to pick it up yesterday afternoon. They had the cake frozen and the girl at front of the bakery told me I had to leave it out 2 to 3 hours at room temperature before eating it because the cake was kept at a very cold temperature. I hadn’t even left it out for 30 minutes when I checked on it and the cake was already melting so I put it in the fridge. I checked back to it a few hours later and it had melted even further than before. We had to transfer it to our freezer. The first layer had melted and part of the cake had sinked to one side. I feel like the cake wasn’t made fresh for the day it was needed and had been a few days old when I picked it up. I was so disappointed because it was my brother’s birthday cake. We had to eat it frozen.UPDATE: the owner was very apologetic and gave another cake to my brother. He wanted it to be solved right away and apologized to my friend, my brother and me. Even though at first it was disappointing, the owner made up for it and I’m grateful. Everyone makes mistakes so I’ll be checking out the rest of their pastries.
My First visit since they opened so i will give it another try. I really wanted this to be awesome. I should of been aware that it didn’t smell like a real in house bakery. They have a lot of work ahead of them if it’s just an outlet selling items from another commissary. I got the lobster tail, and ciambella in hopes this would satisfy my sweet tooth or be my side kick to a cup of coffee next door at Java love. The Ciambella was a 1 out 5. Tasted like it was a day old or maybe like nothing special. The lobster tail was a 3 out of 5. Cream filing was Wow. But crust seem off, like it was a day old. I’ll give it another try, as we should all support local business. Maybe they were just off because it was Memorial Day Weekend. If so, they should just closed and open when they are ready to serve their best product.
kind and welcoming atmosphere. i usually visit java love next door, but they were closed. i had a delightful apricot croissant and a maple latte. both were wonderful. will be returning. :)
I love getting gluten free desserts here. My ricotta pear dessert is my favorite ! Happy customer here ?
I was the winner of a gift certificate to this bakery and used it to purchase desserts for my Thanksgiving gathering. I chose a selection of small pastries - cannoli, cheesecake, tiramisu, fruit tart, carrot cake, and mini pumpkin pies! Everything was fresh and delicious! I live about 40 minutes away from the bakery but I am absolutely making the trip here again for more goodies!The inside of the bakery is nice and spacious with tables to sit and enjoy a coffee and pastry. The staff I interacted with was so friendly and genuinely thanked me for coming to the bakery. Thank you so much to Mattarello Bakery for wow-ing me and my guests this Thanksgiving!
I would give them -* if possible. I order on Uber eats and they sent whatever they want costly items and on top of that you getting something you DON'T like, waste of money ??? to make matters worst the items that I got are hard and old something that was about to go to the garbage, if I wanted a donut ( that was the replacement) I would have gone to the DD around the corner donuts would've been fresh and A lot Cheaper!!!! I'm NOT ordering from this place again. $40 worth of dessert to the garbage!!!
Loved this place. It is the closest that I have found to being in a cafe in Italy.
Nice selection of coffee drinks and teas; macchaito shot was perfect. We had assorted cream puffs, filled donuts and sofiglatelle. The baba au rum was a bit sweet, needed more rum-still very fresh. Favorites sell out but they make fresh batches during day so call ahead if you have your heart set on a certain pastry such as the bobolinos (ck sp) . Street is very quaint looking with other trendy shops and cafes. Will visit again!
We tried almond cookie and Pune nut cookie. Both are pretty good . These are gluten free as well . We got coffee and were fine. The owner is very friendly and Polite. Seating arrangement is nice inside . Restroom is available for use as well . I would recommend.
