Wonderful bakery and café ! The French stuff (croissants, baguettes) really tastes like it should and the Israeli / Middle East influence provides a lot of great choices for snacks, breakfast and lunch.
This place was horrific. The food was awful, lacked flavor, texture, and overall just anything quality food has. Don’t get me started on the customer service, the man at the cash register was so clueless he had to be high out of his mind. During my time spent there, I heard more sorry than thank you for how horrible they treated the customers. I don't know how they're in business.. it's run by amateurs with horrible customer service skills and TASTELESS food. Run don't be fooled by the pictures.
Amazing Israeli food! Tastes like home!Everyone was so kind. The food arrived fast and was absolutely delicious. טעם של בית! תודה רבה!
It's never disappointed me in the last few years. They are very consistent with the quality and service. My personal favorite is the Israeli platter & the Salmon toast. Saturday & Sunday get busy very quickly so I suggest getting there by 9:00AM
Excellent food and service. Love their cappuccino and avocado toast! ?
Visited with family and friends. The manager and staff were fantastic-they treated us like VIP. The food, pastries and coffee were delicious!!! I'll recommend Marcel Bakery and Kitchen to anyone!
I live in S.Orange & go to Marcel Bakery at least 3 times a week. The food is always fresh & delicious. Very friendly staff. I’ve also ordered the chicken bundle & it was a great dinner for four of us. I’m so happy about this cafe.
This is my love letter to Marcel Bakery & Kitchen. IYKYK.Marcel rivals the best Israeli food I've had outside of Tel Aviv. That includes everything I've had in NYC, which is substantial. Everything is fresh and delicious. The menu is inventive. Flavors are off the charts. Staff is friendly. Service is quick. I feel blessed to live close enough that I can eat here regularly. It's tough to pick just a couple items to review. But I'm a sandwich guy, so that's what I'll stick to.The breakfast sandwiches are all great, but I love the guapo and the classic bfast burrito. For lunch, the Malawach Sabich sandwich stands out- it's something straight out of my safta's Yemenite kitchen, just superb. And I was shocked how good falafel and shawarma are. But to me the actual #1 is the fried chicken sandwich. They don't have it all the time but it's my go to when available.I could go on and on. This place is special. Think I'll go tomorrow AM...
I ordered their meatball dinner for two for delivery (hours in advance). Promised in the meal is pita PLUS another bread item (like a full baguette) and treats for two (like cookies). When the order arrived, there was no additional bread item and one small stale slice of pound cake (not enough for two people). I called the restaurant and they said, oh sorry, they ran out--that's all they had--and they have a policy of just subbing whatever they want or even nothing, if they don't have it, with no adjustment to price. No communication about. You're just expected to accept whatever they want to give you (even if different from what you ordered or paid for). This place is not cheap--and with the steep prices comes some expectation of customer service. Will not order a dinner from them again.
I made an order to pick up . Once I walked in - not one person greeted me, after about 15 minutes waiting patiently. I asked how much longer will my order be ready? She proceeded to tell me 5 minutes . 20 minutes later I now asked her how long (no I'm annoyed ) she then takes the ticket to the kitchen and the chef haven't even started the order . I now have waited 45. No one seemed a bit "sorry" . I've ordered for pick up here before and will not be coming back after today's treatment. Highly disappointed.
