Excellent gnocchi, literally melts in your mouth. Friendly service and nice décor. Love the flowers!
Had lunch there today. The salad was tasty but the smallest salad I have ever had. Added shrimp, got 3. Would have been okay as a before dinner salad but pretty skimpy for lunch. Have ordered this before and it was much bigger. Time to try somewhere else!
Kitchen is small on top of a dishwasher that sprays while people pass with food. The food is kept downstairs where there is dust and dirt. Then you have to walk it outside before bringing it up to the kitchen. And the train comes by and guests sit outside breathing in 10xs the emissions from a car while eating. And if your lucky the train blows it's horn right there making you deaf. But as long as you like poison with your meal this is the place to eat.
Super cute spot!!! You would not even think there was restaurant in that location. Gets very busy so I suggest make reservations. Open at 5pm. Lots of drink choices. Food was tasty, you Can tell they take time and make an effort to make sure the food is good. Food presentation awesome. Great customer service. Very attentive servers. creative desserts, super cute!! Great date spot or hang out spot with the girls or guys.

I was in the restaurant industry a long time managing 3-4 star restaurants so I know what to expect when I’m paying $33 for a hanger steak & $28 for salmon….Customer Service! We felt rushed from the moment we sat until we left; this was a Sunday night. There was no reason for the waitress to approach our table of 2 as many times as she did. We felt as if we were at a turn & burn diner instead of a nice, unique restaurant in Upper Montclair. People can get good food anywhere, but what they want is the full restaurant experience. DeNovo is more interested in your money. We won’t be back.

We drove 35 minutes for this restaurant to get out of town on Valentine’s Day. It felt a little far, but when we got there we immediately realized it was completely worth it. The ambience was great; we sat down at the bar and the bartender was awesome. Everyone seemed happy to be there and when we ended up sitting at our table our waiter was phenomenal as well. The appetizer options were awesome and our entrées included homemade pasta. Really fast service too!
Food quality is excellent and consistent. Very clean dinning room with a warm touch. Service has been a little slower recently. May be a result of being slightly understaffed. DeNovo has a second new location in Edgewater.
Took my fiancé out for her birthday dinner service was horrible when her meal came out she tasted it. She did not like it so Call over the waiter explain to him that the meal was very fishy did not offer to replace the meal but asked her if she would like to wrap it and take it home which to me makes absolutely no sense he also did not tell the manager she literally had two bites of it and still charged us for the meal which is not a problem but it did affect his tip I would not recommend this restaurant I know you can’t make everybody happy at least make an effort
Went there for lunch yesterday, squash soup and hamburger with sweet potato fries; everything was either cold or lukewarm.The soup was strangely too sweet with salt crystals sprinkled on top!The burger was cold with an abundance of a slimy concoction that was supposed to be grilled onions that were probably there from the previous day.The sweet potato fries were cold and soggy, again probably left over from the previous day.The service was prompt and courteous but the food was lackluster.I would imagine it’s good for drinks but not for food.
