This has quickly become my favorite place during summer time. My husband and I will walk to town, grab a gelato and enjoy on our walk back home, hazelnut is very good but pistachio is my all time favorite. Thank you for being open later than other Montclair business! We will be back, again and again.

Had the Vegan Matcha flavor and it was delicious! I got it on a waffle cone with rainbow sprinkles (they don’t have chocolate sprinkles but they do have chocolate chips which are not vegan).

Must try the donut with gelato inside! Bombolone

I'm Italian and very passionate about ice cream...and i have to say ice cream here is up there with the best you can find back home in italy..make sure to stop here when in Montclair...Also and always a plus, people working there seem to always have a smile on their faces :-)Will definitely pay them another visit when in Montclair!

Love this place, delicious Gelato, they also have non dairy.

Unlike what other 5 star reviews have said, I don't find Benvenuti to offer an authentic gelato experience at all. As somebody that's eaten a lot of gelato in Europe, and has tasted any number of gelatos in Italy itself, what you get at Benvenuti just isn't it.Firstly, it's much too soft. Secondly, the constant churning their freezer unit offers adds way too much air to the gelato. It's way softer than soft serve, and that's not even remotely correct. The increased air impacts the texture negatively and destroys the density. While it's true that gelato should be less dense than traditional ice cream, what Benvenuti offers is only a half (quarter?) step thicker than most milkshakes.Flavor wise, the two chocolates we tried were both very tasty. The strawberry had good flavor, but the texture wore on me by the end. The vanilla was just bad. Vanilla hides nothing, so it's a good test of overall quality. While kids will certainly enjoy this, there are many better sources of ice cream in general to be found. If you are looking for gelato, I'd recommend looking for Amorino in Manhattan to get something authentic.

When I walked into this gelateria over the weekend, I definitely didn't think I'd leave with a vague pot brownie taste in my mouth. My chum and I stopped here for dessert after having lunch nearby. It's a pretty small shop with a few tables to sit at, as well as a couple of display counters/freezers housing Italian pastries along with the gelato (which certainly seemed to be their bread and butter). We were served quickly and ably by a friendly employee.Maybe I just picked the wrong flavor, but the only one that appealed to me in the moment was salted caramel. Their salted caramel though was only available with CBD. I'd never actually tried any type of ice cream with CBD in it before (and was pretty ambivalent about it) but figured I'd give it a shot since I wasn't feeling the other available options. The small cup I ordered came to a little less than $5 - in my experience, gelato tends to be heavier and more expensive than normal ice cream, so not a big deal price pointwise, in my opinion. It came with a piece of an artisanal cone as decoration, which was a nice aesthetic touch. One issue that my chum noticed - the level of the bottom of the cup is super misleading. From the outside of the cup, you'd assume the interior goes all the way down but it's actually raised about a quarter to a half an inch inside so you're not getting nearly as much as you'd think. Personally, I think they should invest in a different style of cup.The gelato itself was fine. I like to think I have some street cred in this area, having studied abroad in Florence and spending most of that time in gelaterias. It honestly seemed kind of bland by comparison (which is not my typical experience with salted caramel flavored items). And just based on my personal palate, I wasn't crazy about the CBD, which you could definitely taste. My chum commented (and I agreed) that this isn't the flavor I would have chosen for a CBD infusion. She ordered the Hot Cocoa and seemed to enjoy it more than me, inhaling it in about two minutes. If I returned, it would be for a different flavor that didn't make me feel like I was at a Phish concert.

Excellent gelato either for in store or packed in pints to go. Flavor offerings rotate a bit with the standards always available. Other treats and snacks available as well.

The Gingerbread Gelato was delicious, I love the way they make it here. The coffee was also perfect, not to mention the ladies who worked here were awesome at answering our questions.

One of my favorite gelato places! Always have really great flavors
