The fries were really good. Went there for the hot dog and it wasn't as good as expected. This is the original windmill, and is better than Belmar.
1st time here, had a chili cheese dog, chicken club and fried mushrooms. I can't say I was impressed with anything. Chili tasted like can chili. Chicken was precooked frozen and bacon was also precooked heated up in aluminum foil. The highlight was the mushrooms. Total cost with a regular drink was $24 and change. I left the parking lot feeling I could had definitely done better. This is a one and done for me.
It's Windmill! If you want a quick bite to eat that has enough grease to oil an engine - this is the place. I recommend the California Cheeseburger. You can eat inside at the counter and watch the traffic flow of Ocean Avenue. This is a no frills but very delicious eatery 1 block over from the beach.
The food is ok. It’s more iconic than anything to stop and grab a dog while you’re down the shore. They gotta work on reining in the young staff. They really need supervision.I’ve had both good and bad experiences but no matter what I will be back
Bought 2 chili dogs last week. Totally wet and inedible, i had no choice but to toss them. Never again.
This is a great hotdog/hamburger joint. Super friendly people and everything was fresh and great tasting. Can't ask for much more.
Tastes nothing like it did a few years ago. Had the steak with grilled onions and fries. The steak had no flavor, not even the onions. The guy behind the counter kept coughing without covering his mouth.and handled the money and food with the same gloves. The best part were the fries. Really disappointed. I always went there but now no more.

RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL STAFF MEMBER Stopped in around 6:30 pm on a slow Sunday evening. I was the only one in the entire restaurant and the workers did not even acknowledge me. The one staff just stood and looked at me waiting for me to order, so I said hi. He granite hi back. He then put on fresh gloves to open up the bun only to take out his cell phone immediately after I told him I appreciated him putting on a fresh pair of gloves but could he change the gloves. He immediately became upset and rudely told me “that’s all you had to say, all you had to say was change your gloves”. I thought I was being cordial by complementing him prior to asking him to change the gloves. I simply walked out because I don’t have time nor the patience to be disrespected like this for no reason.
