Robinson Ake House (any McLooneâs, really) is a âgo-toâ for us. Having dined at every other location, we expected the same great experience when finally trying the Long Branch location. The star of the show was Nabil, our server. Extremely attentive and accommodating, Nabil ensured our food was to our liking and constantly checked if anything was needed. Going with the standards we have come to love at the other locations, we ordered the oysters and the crab cakes. Although the oysters could have been prepared better (they were very gritty and had lots of sediment), the crab cakes redeemed the meal. Dessert (Baileyâs Pie) and Drinks were also very good! Understanding that it was a Saturday night, in the Summer, at a restaurant just feet from the beach, the front-end experience could have been more aligned with what we have come to love from every McLooneâs establishment. This part was a definite miss at this location. There seemed to be a lot of confusion in this area. Definitely have a reservation, as there were several groups coming in looking for dinner-time accommodation after their day on the beach. We are definitely glad we had a reservation. Overall, we are glad we tried this location. Definitely not as âwell-oiledâ as The Pier House (or any of the Asbury locations), from an operations perspective, but still a good dinner experience.
Our server was superb.
The food was over cooked. There were a ton of flies by where they sat us - near the window, more than 50 just flying around gross. Food was okay - not great

Nice relaxing meal ⦠good service .. ordered prosciutto/ mozzarella arugula fig flatbread; tropical salsa and Robinson salad - all excellent .. highly recommended
I made a reservation for 7pm and didnât get seated till almost 8pm. They kept telling us they would seat us in 10 minutes. The restaurant seemed to be run by kids that didnât know what they were doing. The food came out cold. It was cold and dark in the restaurant. Will never go there again. The only good thing was our server was extremely attentive.

Service was poor. It took a very ling long time to get the food.
Our server Michael was personable and attentive, weâll give him 5 stars. However, the team bringing the food to the tables were confused and disorganized seemed unexperienced. We receive the wrong food two times and wondered if our actual order had been sent to another table and touched by others . We are still in a pandemic! Midway through our entrée another appetizer came out to the table and we were asked if we already had our appetizers . Like I said disorganized and not properly trained on the table numbers.
