Since they switched management from New York Chicken to Jay’s. The food went from good eats to throwing your money in the trash because that’s what you going to do with your food after tasting it. I would just take the drive to the Original one in Elizabeth or to the other Chicken Shack that’s open late in Roselle. Both serve everything fresh no matter what time it is

I been coming here for years but they are under new owner or supervisor and It is HORRENDOUS! The customer service is terrible. The young man will argue with customers, not polite. It is my second encounter when the same guy bas been rude. I don’t recommend anyone to come here. I’m not lease go to the one in Elizabeth! Their staff is amazing, food is fresh and have a pleasant experience. This location is not worth the troubles and highly DO NOT RECOMMEND! If I could give It 0 stars I would have. I WISH THE OLD OWNER STILL OWNED THIS PLACE
This is our go-to place for late-night snacks meaning 2, 3 or 4 a.m. in the morning after we hit the concert or club scene in Newark. The staff are always always very friendly and accommodating and even still at 3am when people of all walks of like come in or stumble in. My girlfriend and I walk in and they acknowledged us, recognize us and greet us with a friendly smile. The chicken is always fresh hot and juicy and fries cooked to perfection (slightly crispy the was I like it). They also make a gyro pizza slice which I absolutely love and get it along with chicken for me and my girl. And if they're sold out of it they will make one fresh for just for me... how could you not love that. I find myself driving out of my way to go on Route 9 to stop there after a night of partying.
Beyond disappointed. I ordered 3 items from Jay's Chicken and Pizza and only received 2. Not only did I not receive my full order, but the items I did get were terrible. My burger was burnt as was the bun it came on, and as for the Italian Cheese Steak it consisted of 1 thin slab of meat and was loaded with soggy fries drenched in Ketchup. I didn't think I would have to pay extra for a decent portion of meat nor did I expect such lack of care.
Went in at 2am for some chicken and fries. Chicken was crispy, moist inside, the fries were the hottest, right out of the fryer, best French fries I ever had, shoe string fries, awesome. Good job guys. Not 5 stars, because in my opinion, the dining area didn't seem that comfortable to me, but not many people eat in there it seems.

The worst! The chicken wing tips still had feathers. The potatoe salad was an absolute joke and horrible. And the delivery service was just as poor. Will never order from here again when I have another work trip overnight.
Been here several times. Good chicken, great customer service. And their Mac and cheese is pretty good too.
