EVERYTHING WAS GOOD? UNTIL WE GOT THE BILL?? THE WAITRESS OR WAITER NEED TO EXPLAIN TO GUEST WHEN TAKIN ORDERS. ABOUT THE CATCHES SMALL AND LARGE. THAT WHEN U GET THE MIX MATCH CATCH THAT U HAVE TO PAY ADDITIONAL FOR WHATEVER THE OTHER SEAFOOD???? PRICE IS FOR EXAMPLE U GET CRAB CLUSTER? ADD ON LOBSTER? WILL BE AN ADD ON FOR $18 ITS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MIX MATCH CATCH ITS EXTRA FEE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD A LIL PRICEY. DEFINITELY NEED MAC CHEESE ON THE MENU FOR KIDS.

The food was very good. I enjoyed the karaoke on Friday night. I enjoyed the host and the singers there were a couple of customers that really show their talent that night especially Naomi!! God bless her and her gift. I look forward to coming back again.

The manager was phenomenal with outstanding customer service!

If this was my first time at a Hook & Reel I might have given a different rating. However, my first H&R experience was at the Bayonne, NJ location and their seafood was great. We were celebrating my grandson's 20th birthday and chose to go to this location. When the seafood boils came out at the Linden, NJ location, you couldn't see anything it was so skimpy, they looked like it was just full of air. Very little meat came out of the crab legs & the lobster tail was not 6 oz. The boils at the Bayonne, NJ location were full. Needless to say I was very disappointed, especially because of the amount of money I spent at the Linden, NJ location. If I want to eat at an H&R in the future it will not be in Linden, NJ. We at least had some family fun joking about the food.

We try to come here once a month. The food is delicious. We always get seafood boils, mostly The Reel Catch and have tried different seasonings. Today (Jan 26, 2022), we ordered the Original Cajun and it was a bit on the oily side. The flavor was still there so didn't worry too much. My only complaint and has always been the case is that the corn that comes with the seafood boils is really soft/soggy. Kinda like it has been sitting in the sauce for many many hours. I can't say for sure but my wife thinks they use frozen corn on the cob instead of freshly delivered. Despite the bad corn, we still come back because we mainly go for the seafood. The service is usually fine overall though it can take some time for the server to finally come around to greet you and take your initial order after being seated. Today we only waited about 4 minutes which was great though we have definitely waited over 10 minutes before and had to ask the host to let the server know we're waiting. I would say it's usually around 7-8 minutes. Though the wait may be a little slow, the upside to this is that the food usually comes out pretty quick.Took .5 stars off for the soggy corn and .5 for the service though today's service was quicker, this one quick day doesn't make up for 7-8 slow days.

Not a good experience at all. The food was just absolutely terrible. Definitely no seasoning no love was put into preparing this dish. The bag came out it was full of air there was hardly anything in the bed. The crab legs were skimpy, the potatoes were mushy , the lobster tail was not clean, the shrimps were not clean, it was just a bad experience. The waiter also clearly didn’t want to be there. She didn’t bring us any silverware and she took a long time to come over when we called her for assistance. She looked very annoyed and Didn’t have the best attitude. She definitely didn’t want to be there. I usually go to the West Orange location and I always have a great time there. Never disappointed in the food or the waitresses.

Great Atmosphere I’ll come here often

Had the Catfish Po’ Boy with seasoned fries and a mango drink and it was incredibly good. Great service and very clean establishment. Prices are also reasonable.

Everything was delicious...the lobster bisque, fried calamari, large boil, sangria and carrot cake! And let's not forget that Hook and Reel Sauce!!! Should be bottled!!! Calamari was extremely tender and fried to perfection. Haven't tasted a better carrot cake...which happens to be my favorite. Even the leftovers didn't disappoint! Will definitely go back!!!
