First time visiting and we had such a great experience. From the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us with a friendly demeanor and took us to our table. We had the dungeoness crab boil with potato, corn, and sausage. It was delicious! Our server, Anthony G, was super attentive. He checked on us often, made sure our buckets did not overflow, and came by our table frequently to make sure we didn’t need anything. Overall an awesome dining experience at Hook & Reel.
Visited for my first time on Sunday and the food and ambiance was amazing. we ordered the fried calamari which was nice and crispy and my boil was very flavorful. I'm not big on spicy so I was happy to see that they accommodate the level of spice to your liking. I only deducted a star because while the drinks are pretty and taste amazing, I didn't feel that there was any alcohol in my margarita. My friend said the same also. Other than that, I had a great time, the music was great and our server was very attentive.
First, the prawn crackers (at least that's what I think they were) are delicious. Wholly recommend trying them as a thing in general. We had calamari, a shrimp po'boy, and an oyster basket, with sweet potato fries. Everything was pretty solid. Hot and fresh. The shrimp were delicious and the oysters were perfectly juicy. Our only complaint is that our meals could have benefited from a little more salt.
First time here and I loved it! Cali was an awesome server. A large amount of food. They also have great drink specials. Happy hour 12 until I forgot when which is a great length of time! They have a bar, tons of tables, and a large parking lot. This is a great casual spot to come with some friends you feel comfortable getting dirty with. They do provide bibs and gloves.
First time here and my waitress Asa was AMAZING. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. I told her I was from out of town and she made me comfortable with our menus. She knows the ins and outs of the menu. What deals & drinks are worth your money. The food was great, well seasoned and fresh. Definitely a 5/5!!
Packaya was a great server. Food was good as well. The loud music is a definite turn-off. For the reason alone I will not return. I was under the impression I was in a restaurant not a damn club. Menu fonts too small to ready. Lighting in you booths is dark which makes it almost impossible to read the menu. 18% gratitude which was added to my bill is a disappointment. For 2 people was a bit much.
Now I completely understand that Mother's Day in the food industry is one of the busiest days, you expect to have to wait sometime to be seated or served but this was ridiculous. We waited the 30mins to be seated which was perfectly fine, we didn't expect to be seated immediately. But we didn't expect to wait for our food for almost an hour. Everyone around us were served, people were flying out the doors with orders but we just sat there -- patiently, we didnt want to make a ruckus on a busy day. Finally the manager came by (twice actually) and acknowledged the long wait and said they had online orders and it was mother's day -- but yes it was mothers day for our mom too who had to sit and wait for so long to eat. We were a minute from walking out until our food finally came. It was okay, we asked for mild special sauce and it definitely was not. The bill came and we were charged $7 for frozen virgin drink and then another $3 for pina coloda ... which was one drink? Will not be back again, other locations are much better.
My waiter MALCOLM was an amazing waiter. It was my first time eating at a seafood boil place. And it’s was the best! So much flavor on my tongue. Definitely worth the hour drive!
