Huge spacious restaurant. The staff is very nice . They didn't have several food items which was little saddening because we really wanted some green fried tomatoes. And some southern fried chicken ?. But the brisket was good and fries delicious and ceviche was fresh and light. The appetizer wing's we're good and savory and sweet.
Texas style bar and restaurant, I had the BBQ Ribs and french fries which were very good. I would recommend this restaurant if in the area, will come back soon.
Beautiful decor and settings. My friend and I have been wanting to come here. For our first visit, we had brunch. I ordered the jalapeno cornbread. It was good but gave me some heart burns. The fried chicken sandwich was good. Lots of chicken meat in it. High value. But did not have the crunchy breading. I think maybe for healthy reason? I did enjoy the food here.
I was here for an event and tried the sliders - which were awful. Are sliders supposed to be crunchy and dry? I thought maybe they had been out too long so I went upstairs and ordered dinner. I got ribs and they were burnt and dry to the point I couldn’t eat it. Nice people but the food was blah.
On the last Saturday of May we walked-in this restaurant and, although this place was quite full, we were given a nice table - half of us having Newark Ave streetview, half of us the very nice interior of South house. The staff was helpful and the food was good. We had a variaty of what they had on their menu, amongst them fried chicken and fried steak.
This spot is a more than meets the pretty eye. On first glance, it looks like your regular, loud bar. Yet, the cocktails surprised me, the food was pretty good (I *heavy emphasis* enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich; some members of my party weren't too impressed, so put the pork on your fork), and there's a basement that *omits to not ruin surprise*. The lighting also added to the allure. Check it out, even if it's just to hang at the bar... Or to go downstairs........
More like 3.5 but I’ll give it a 4 . Love the decor . Drinks questionable . Wanted it to be good but just not completely there. Semi long wait for food even when it wasn’t packed . Guacamole and cHips were good . Wings were good.
The drinks were great (def get the purple haze). The atmosphere is vibrant and the decor is really nice. The food was however disappointing and so was the service. Had the longest wait I’ve ever had, taking over an hour for food to arrive and over half hour for dessert. We saw the waitress taking her time with big tables, having long convos with them. We saw many tables who came later being served before us. We felt intentionally ignored and lower prioritized over large groups of people that came after us. No other restaurant has ever made us wait so long for our food. The brisket turned out burnt and not worth the wait or price. The broccoli tacos tasted better than it sounded but not something I would want to eat again. The only other vegetarian option in the menu is mac and cheese. I would only go back to this place for the drinks but given the bad service I won’t.
If you’re looking for a hip bar, this could be the place; but if you’re looking for great tasting southern food, this just isn’t it.The $14 Fritos pie had great meat, the $12 biscuit and gravy (single biscuit) was great albeit a little bland, and the $22 Country Fried Steak was sadly an embarrassment to steak and the country. It was flavorless, overcooked, and doused in a way too peppery white gravy, served alongside some great mashed potatoes and the blandest Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Another embarrassment to country eating.Good atmosphere, meh food, I give it a 3/5.
Definitely a different vibe for lunch / dinner vs late night drinks. I was there for just drinks and saw it get a bit rowdy but sometimes that's what you want. Downstairs has some games and the second bar. Bit of a mixed crowd which I guess was why the music was all over the place. Recommend the dj to stick to one theme or genre. Drinks were strong and reasonably priced.
