This place is more of a hidden gem for Vietnamese cuisine in Central Ave. It’s a small space but boy are they good! The food is delicious. We tried the seafood soup and the shrimp summer roll and they were both excellent in taste. I’d have totally given 5 stars but just felt the girl serving us could be a bit more welcoming (she clearly made it seem like she didn’t wana be there) but there was another guy (could be the owner perhaps?) who was nice and checked on us towards the end of our dinner. Will be coming back for the food ?
food was so delicious and plenty the service is superv and freindly
We love Vietnamese food and I think we have now found our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant.Food is excellent, loved the chicken wings. The seafood Pho, and the spicy lemongrass soupEven better than the food is the service, everyone is super friendly and warm. We will definitely come back and recommend it to friends and family.
We're pho lovers so we decided to try this joint. The prices are great plus the amount of meat is perfect. However, the broth didn't do it for us. We're used to deep, favorful and savory broth. This one was slightly too salty and bland. As far a the service goes it was fast. But once the food arrived, the waiter didn't check on us anyone when though our tea cup was completely empty.
Not only is their food absolutely amazing (the chicken pho is my favorite in the area) but their customer service is the best of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. When our DoorDash driver stole our food, we called them and the manager was the nicest person I’ve ever dealt with. He reopened their kitchen and sent their own delivery driver to deliver our food! Would give 20 stars if I could!
Inconsistent. Overall quality seemed deteriorated. Portion decreased since while price increased since opening... Not many pho options in the Jersey City makes this place go to but not really a standout, rather average IMO. A lot of salt and MSG in the broth rather than beefy flavor, I get it, they need to make business.
After my photoshoot of of NYC skyline at Weehawken overlook, I searched for Pho and Saigon Bistro had fantastic reviews, I love pho and look for new places. I quickly reached there, being Sunday, parking was easy (it is metered parking on the road.) Nice (small)cozy place, very pleasant greeter, quickly took my order. I placed Beef Combo Pho $13.95 and on the house hot tea. Tea was luke warm and very weak and I discarded it right away, my order came quick. Nice size portion.Unlike most patrons including native named patrons giving enthusiastic recommendations, I did not find the Pho conforming with acceptable standards, I have been eating at numerous Vietnamese restaurants. Broth is the body of Pho, this broth was nothing more than a salty concoction, basically flavorless, neutral in taste with high amount of salt, lacking in beefy flavor and aroma of spices one would expect as a pho lover.I found the noodles stuck together in a clump, you may see in one photo, quantity of meat was less, and the strips were exceptionally long.I would not come back for Pho, I did not try anything else, I live far, will not come back anyway. It seems like a great option for Jersey city locals, but if you are seeking authentic taste, keep looking (read my other Pho recommendations). Saigon Bistro is an upscale fast food joint and a nice place, very clean, very attentive and caring staff but their Pho has no punch.
Best Vietnamese take out ever! It comes with a big bowl and spoon which we appreciate a lot! Both pho and summer rolls are so good.
This place was pretty popular for takeout as I dined and watched an endless stream of delivery service drivers come in to pick up orders.Note the dine in area is pretty small and I would avoid sitting near the door if possible. We got the pho and the spicy lemongrass soup. This is the best pho you can get in Jersey City. The spicy lemongrass soup is similar to Bun Bo Hue, a noodle soup from the central region of Vietnam famous for their distinctive cuisine. It uses similar spices but not the same noodles or typical inclusions such as blood sausage. Still pretty tasty though.
I got the Chicken Pad Thai, the wings and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Overall, everything was good. No complaints. I like the grilled/charred taste of the chicken in the Pad Thai. The wings were cooked well and seasoned appropriately. The spring rolls didn't disappoint. Would definitely visit again to try the Pho.
