The $68 bone-in NY strip was possibly the worst steak Iâve ever had. The filet that my wife ordered was average at best. Waited for a long time for our meal in a half empty restaurant and then waited just as long to get the check. Highly disappointed.
WOWWWW .. let me start with that !! Made this reservation on open table and I had very few requests ..And here's how it went . The host (Leo) the best welcoming I ever had when I walked into a restaurant, what a pleasant person . He makes you feel welcome and has a great big smile to greet you . He walked us right to our table and they absolutely exceeded my expectations on the requests I made upon the reservation . The waiter ( Emmanuel ) professional , pleasant and very knowledgeable, he was also very attentive with the services . The bus boy ( Joshua ) absolute favorite !!! If only other people did their job with that smile I think services everywhere would be great . The food : we had the oso buco ravioli and I knew it was going to be delicious the moment it was served because it smelled so good !! We also had the rib eye steak , garlic sea bass with a side of grilled shrimp , potato au gratin and grilled asparagus . This food was absolutely excellent. It has been a very long while since I went somewhere where everything was absolutely perfect from beginning to end . They even brought us a courtesy anniversary dessert that was very good and highly appreciated ( bread pudding ) . Not to mention the fact that the manager came to our table to ask if all was well . Hands down I would give them 10 stars if I could , management is absolutely spectacular and doing a great job training the staff to be their best . We are already planning to go back in a few months when we're back in the area ..
Quality of food is sub par for the price. I do not recall having this kind of meat in any of other Ruthâs Chris. We though of dining locally. Big mistake. We should have gone to our regular place in MenloPark mall. Meat was over cooked when we asked for medium. Another meat we specificLly asked for lean but was given fatty piece of meat. Ugh. If you are charging $68 for meat make sure its quality. Embarrassing time for me, picking local spot to take out special guests.
Service was lousy. Our server seemed like he didnât even want to be working this day. First off the place is huge and for a Monday night there was basically no one in the place. The dinning room was nice and there were people seated at about 2 to 3 tables. It was my wifeâs birthday and the restaurant was notified of this before hand yet they sat us in the bar area which was BORING. I mean for a guest that requests a nice table for a special occasion and gets seated at the bar area when the dinning room was certainly much nicer. So had dinner and decided the have desert and coffee. Our server comes with a pot of coffee and pours less then a half cup of coffee. When I saw how little coffee he poured I assumed he was going to leave the pot at the table so we can top off the coffee ourselves. NOPE!!! He really meant to pour us LESS then a half cup of coffee. When I asked him why he only gave us such little coffee and I asked him to bring us more coffee. He comes back and only pours my wife more coffee then walks away again. At this point I was furious that I was spending over $250 for dinner and nothing was going right for us I figured weâll just have the coffee and cut our losses. We tried the coffee and it was actually cold. I was livid that with these high prices they would at least have servers that know enough to make sure the coffee was freshly brewed and not sitting around all day cold. I will never again go to this Ruth Chris downtown Jersey city. Awful
My husbands birthday. It was a lovely dinner. Food was excellent and so was service. Restaurant is beautiful
