I visited Rasoi couple of days back with my Jain friend. The accessibility wise its good, ambience is okayish. I ordered a beer which was pretty much fizzed out (when questioned, attendant checked over the bar but they refused to replace saying that's how it comes. Pic shows how fizzy it was). We ordered Mutton kadhai, Jain Paneer Makhani (yes, they have separate Jain dishes which is a thumbs up), Butter Nan. There was hardly any butter in nan (on querying, they took them back and came back in free mins with proper butter). Complementary Rice bowl was nice surprise. Mutton was not superb but above average. Ohh yes, they gave complimentary papad with beer, though after asking. Beer was charged at $9 for bottle and they charged $1 for two water bottles (maybe that's how things work in States). Still I gave tip because my attendant, though looked inexperienced, was trying to give his best with a smile.

Food was okay, little on the sweeter side, they have a jain menu which is seperate, which is great.Ordered for a paneer makhani, spicy level I mentioned was “hot” but it was on the milder side. Staff is less.I would give it a skip, for sure. Lots of nicer options in the vicinity.

The food was decent. Mutton bhuna was well made. Saag Chana was also tasty and sufficient quantity. Beer was served in a chilled glass, which was a nice touch.A couple of negatives were a bit of an unpleasant smell when we entered the place and the wash room was not clean. It would have been nice to get something to much on like a papad that's served at most places. They served nothing other than the food we ordered. However, the service was good, friendly, and reasonably quick.

Our friends had highly spoken of this place and now we know why. Great Food, super quick service! For your reference, we ordered:1. Chilli Paneer - Really good, not the traditional taste, it was a little different but amazing in taste. A few paneer pieces were hard but mostly was good!2. Hara Kabab - Good.3. Masala Papad - Good. Chutneys were good.4. Aloo Tikki chat - Not in pictures, but it was wholesome and delicious.5. Paneer Tikka Masala - It was really good.6. Dal Makhani - Not the best I have had. Can be skipped. We had to resend it to get the salt added.7. Mango Lassi - Okayish. One of the fine dines (not super high end) in the Indian Street(Newark Ave, Jersey City). They also have a bar section. To compare the ambience, I would say this is better than most of the other restaurants in that street.

Buffet - Not good at all. Few dishes were stale, Naan & Pakoras were cold and stiff, Moong dal Halwa was not warm at all etc. Only thing worth eating was Pani Puri. Won’t recommend buffet for around 20 bucks at all.

The worst Indian food you can think of. Ordered ala-carte Paneer Pakora, Mirchi Pakora & kur kur Bhindi for appetizer, bindi was decent but the other two were terrible. Main course we had ordered Baigan Bharta it tasted like everything else hut Baigan Bharta. Pretty sure they have a non-Indian cook

Rasoi restaurent is in New Jersey….It’s in the journal square area where all the indian restaurants are presentWe had our lunch which was a buffet lunchThere were many. Dishes in vegetarian plus snacks plus sweet dish fruit salad with custardSame with non vegetarian dishes… tandoori snacks was good enough with butter chicken sezwan chicken… chicken biryani… noodles etc etc..The hall was packed when we entered the restThe restroom was present and the taste was good… being unlimited food you can eat in buffet…

I ordered curry chicken, garlic naan and chicken lollipop. Everything was delicious ?

Food is fine but customer service is non-existent on calls and pick up! I have picked up several times but lately, when I call, the conversation is so off putting that I just cancel my order. It's as if they are doing their customers a favour by taking the order - in case they haven't noticed, there are a lot of other Indian restaurants we can happily take our business to ?

My favorite Indian restaurant in Jersey City and the U.S. I’ve found all of their dishes to be prepared with excellent care and flavor. A few favorites:1. Aloo Tikki Chaat2. Samosa Chaat3. Chicken Tikka Masala4. Garlic Naan5. Bhindi Masala6. Saag Paneer7. Baingan BhartaThe staff is excellent, very friendly and attentive. Love the experience every time.
