The vegetarian food is great! I got the loaded tots and they were so delicious. I got the coastal warmer and it was the perfect tiki drink! Ate our food too fast to take a picture.
Gf and I went here last night as we've done many times before as we live in the area and are regulars, while I appreciate the crowd and chill vibes, the she bartender with tattoos was extremely rude and frankly lack basic customer experience skills. Yes I know it's a bar and a perfect service is not expected but basic skills are needed and she lacks that. First, I was waiting for a while patiently while gaining eye contact and I know fully well she saw me on many occasions and simply ignore the contact. Second she finally got to me and I asked for a rose and Kane IPA and she says what, I repeated it much louder and she still says what, then she slammed my card on the bar and walked away!!! It's humiliating and feels very racist vibes and I don't condone that. This is it for me as far as going back there.
Went here this week, would be a decent bar until someone aggressively tried to pour a drink on me for trying to order in "their space" at the bar (it's a packed bar).Wouldn't have left a 1 star normally because a rude customer is not their fault. Though the fact that they asked me if I was okay with making amends (I said no) and then let him continue to stay at the bar because he was a "regular" says a lot more about what the management actually cares about. Apparently it's ok for a "regular" to pour drinks on other customers here since they come here often. Will never come here or bring friends here ever again due to the way they managed the situation. Recommend others avoid unless they want entitled regulars pouring drinks on them because they were a little to drunk and hot headed.
I enjoy going to pet shop. They are close by my work and when my friends and I get off of work, it's easy to pop down to Pet Shop. They also have a beer and shot special for $8 every day. In downtown Jersey City, you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal. It's a clean establishment with a unique vibe. They serve food but it is only vegan.
Great atmosphere and cocktails. Also has live music from time to time. I have never tried their food but i know they have a lot of vegan options. If your going out in jersey city for a good time definitely stop into pet shop it’s a one of a kind experience usually a great crowd
The two different vibes you get is like going to two different bars. The upstairs - more bar/place to have fun. The downstairs - cozy wine bar where you can have a great conversation with someone. Love both equally and am never disappointed in the cocktails or recommendations of wine or beer.
Love this local dive bar with cheap drinks. They always play good music, and crowd is pretty cool.
Great band and live music. This is a favorite joint for some time now. Vegans love it. Drinks are okay but the vibe is super chill especially its open very late night and a great place. Vegan people love the cauliflowers - as a meat lover I’m agnostic
Great bar to come in and chill. The restaurant portion is in the back while you can socialize in the front. A little more spacious than the average Jersey City bar as well
I so wanted to like this food, as there are so few vegan options in JC. I ordered the sausage and peppers sub with fries. So very salty, that I could only eat a third of it and had to throw out the rest. Salt. Salt. Salt. Otherwise it would be good.
