This is the way Max’s chicken should be the cooked!!! Great food and friendly staff. Recommended for Pinoys who miss food from back home.

Friendly staff. Great food.

one of the best chicken dinners I've ever had!

We held an engagement party at the JC Max’s Restaurant location and it was an absolute blast and pleasure to work with the staff. They were all so attentive and accommodating to all of us. We were a party of approximately 40 people in a private room, where they helped decorate with balloons prior to us coming in. They brought the food up in a timely manor and set all the cutlery and drinks to our guests with ease. We ordered from the party pack (A), and had some guests order a vegan / vegetarian option of the fried tofu, and the staff was great in bringing out the additional items and handling the payment process for me after the event was over. They even packed our leftover food for us, labeled the containers, and made sure not to have any cross-contamination (my partner is allergic to shellfish). We worked with Tin, who was very helpful and responsive via email and phone call. I would host another event at Max’s again if given the opportunity. I’m so grateful for the experience and would suggest this team for everyone!

Chicken skin was super crunchy. The pansit is also good.Lechon kawali sisig has too much oil and taste like adobo.Fresh lumpia was good as well.

The only issue I’d say is parking is a huge issue for parties.Otherwise this establishment is excellent. The food is better here then their Bloomfield location, every single dish came out in a timely matter— and the staff is great!

Great food and lots of filipino families were dining there.

If you like Filipino cuisine or looking to try, then this is a good place to go. We visit here 2 times a year. Parking can be a challenge at this New Jersey location. I am not a fan of Jersey as the cities seem kinda rundown, but Max's is a bright spot. Good food and they do have beer. Try the Sisig!! Very yummy!! They also offer various soups and dishes of Filipino origin!! Try it out. Located at 687 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey

Like a home cooked meal! Food hit the spot. Everything was delicious. We were making the yummy sounds as we ate. We were a party of four and we shared chicken skin (it was hot and crispy) my daughter loved it over rice. We shared Nilagang baka (beef soup), Sinigang baboy (pork tamarind soup), and lechon kawali (friend pork) over white rice. Please see our photos. The service was outstanding. They made sure our waters were always filled. We asked questions about the menu and they were very kind and helpful. For dessert we shared ube ice cream and turon ala mode. We had left over and took it to go. We were pleased with everything. The bill was about $100 with tip and worth every penny. Will be back for sure.

Great place to dine. Loved their Bulalo. Our host Mark was the best and took good care of us.
