We reserved the downstairs area for my daughter's birthday party. We were pretty impressed with the food and the service. Mr. Parvez is a delight to work with. We chose to have Guacamole sev puri, dahi ke kabab and chilly paneer for appetizers, dal tadka, asparagus kofta, achari veg and kadhai paneer for mains with assorted bread and jeera rice, mango mousse and crème brûlée for dessert with soda and mango lassi for drinks - all of which was delectable and flavorful. Overall it was a pleasant experience with good food and good ambience.
Great food, horrible service .. 2 people would be constantly talking about what's not available and go and tell the customer an item is not there by 20 mins. There is a guy who keeps chiding employees In front of everyone. Ordered a chicken dish, kadhi pakoda (tasted like made of cashew gravy) and dal along with garlic and chilli naan. The food is savory and tastyz don't get me wrong on that's but the service is dismal.
Appetizers : goodEntrée: LOTS OF FOOD COLOR, overly creamy,no taste, no spices, NOT AT ALL INDIANService: Worst! we reached there at 8:10, placed an order for appetizers and noone arrived to take entrée order for another hour.
We hosted our son’s first birthday party here. Had zero issues and the event was very professionally managed. Food was delicious and service was great. A very special shout out to Parvez for being so hands on and available. A must go to restaurant in JC.
We celebrated my daughter's first birthday party on Apr 24th at Mantra. The party was perfect, thanks to the super courteous staff, yummylicious food and great ambiance. A special shout out for Mr. Pervez, who is the manager for this restaurant.. he was super supportive and helpful, starting from the planning days to the day of party. I would recommend this place 100%
The buffet food was ok, not too great. But, good place to organize events for 30-40 people. The food served in the events were quite good and there is good collection of vegetarian items.
Going out for a takeout in the rain was not fun, but stopping in this restaurant changed my mood and I became an explorer in the Indian cuisine. The ambience was warm and welcoming. The nice decor filled the room with light mustard color with red accent along the columns. It is my first time and I tried something that I am familiar with — mushrooms, cashew nuts, ginger, & garlic. Fenugreek was new to me. I picked MUSHROOM METHI MALAI. I had an order of RICE and GARLIC NAAN to go along. The Malai was so tasty, non-spicy, and saucy that my wife tried it and was impressed with the dish. My next cuisine adventure will be at Mantra in Jersey City for A BIT OF INDIA.
Extremely bad food. We ordered Paneer makhani, dal tadka and chicken curry. Tast was extremely bad, all items tasted stale and we left the food unconsumed. The service was hopeless as guys did not bother to get extra bowls and onion after repeated reminders. They did not even have a formal way to take the customer review and they did not bother about my complaint either. All in all, 100 dollars went down the drain. I am not going to visit Mantra again in my lifetime.
1) only 1 server for all the families to serve with food. We went in at 7pm. We got served at 9pm.2) food was good. Nicely cooked.3) super pricey. Not worth for the quantity. 1 curry not even sufficient for 2 people. Entree not even sufficient for 1 person.
Great ambience well maintained and great food, we loved the kesari jhinga was perfectly cooked shrimps the noodles had the typical flavor found in India , the Indian version of chowmein noodles that we loved.
