This place used to have really great food. The macaroni and cheese was made perfect but as the years gone by the quality of food has decreased dramatically. The mac and cheese is ok at best. The meatloaf was made with aged meat I feel as it gave me a stomach ache on two separate occasions. The corn bread is still tasty and low priced. The staff is extremely pleasant. They need a new chef or they need to get the old ones back.
I don’t know what kind of clients this diner expects, maybe they assume people will not pay after eating, but I couldn’t believe that they made me pay before I got my coffee or breakfast, I’ve never been ANYWHERE where I was expected to pay before my meal!!!! I’ll never go there again
I have been taking my son to diners all over NYC with me since he was 1. He’s now 7 and we have recently moved to Jersey City. We weren’t crazy about the diners we visited until we stumbled upon this hidden gem.We have been here about 10 times now and it’s the same great experience every time. Everyone is personable from the waitress to the chef. The food is great and I love the corn bread that comes before your meal ☺️
I'll never go to this place again. These people here charged me the bill before they gave me my food. I was so embarrassed, it's like they thought I was going to skip out on the bill or something. Definitely Do Not Recommend this place at all!

My new favorite go to spot! The food is fabulous and you can tell that they care about every detail. I ordered from here a few times on GrubHub. I haven't visited in person yet. But I thought I would take the time to post a review. Thank you and I look forward to visiting soon.
If you have extra time, this is the place to go. Took a little long for food to arrive, but it was hot and very good.The decor was very nice, gave a at home kinda feeling. The wait staff gets 2 thumbs up and the conversations that you might hear are like that of what you would hear at the food table at home.I would definitely stop in again.
Absolutely love this place I don’t live in New Jersey but every time I visit I have to stop at Larsons from the cornbread to the grits everything is just phenomenal!! I wish I lived closer I would go here every day!!
