I was at the food truck at exchange place. I bought a Jerk Chicken Meal for $10.00. The food looks unappealing and sad. Barely get any meat and to be honest I didn’t really care. Because it doesn’t taste good. Worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. Tip when ordering Jerk Chicken any where. If they ask you “do you want Jerk sauce or it’s better with Jerk sauce….that means it’s not Jerk Chicken. The rice & peas and chicken had no seasoning, it was so bland. This is definitely is a Hard Pass; not even if it was the last restaurant on the planet and I haven’t eaten in days. Yucky! ??
The food was very good. I brought Jerked chicken and rice and peas. It was delicious ?. I haven't had good jerk in a while. I wish I would have asked for hot sauce, I love the spice. I will be back!
Decent food. This place had the best west Indian food I've tasted in jersey city. And I've tried almost all in the area. Small quite and clean. The employees were pleasant and made sure my order was correct to the T. I'm done looking. I'm a stick with this spot for my west Indian meals. I definitely recommend Jerkin Chicken.
I simply do not recommend this place. Not even worth the rating. Total waste of hard eared income to say the least. I am in disbelieve that this place is actually open and in business. I did not intend to purchase trash in a dirty cart board box for an extravagant expense.I would have been better off at a Pizzeria, Chinese and or Chicken Spot to say the least. Staff is rude and unprofessional even after spending a little bit under $80 for unidentified food with no specific pricing on their menu which could not be determined even after asking what the price is per dish. Several items on the menu were out of stock, not prepared nor offered or had a price to them. Eat at your own experience.
I ordered the stew chicken with rice & peas. Very bland and not as tasty. The rice was soft. I guess I should have ordered the jerk chicken. Very disappointed that they are Jamaicans , and don't know how to cook. I only ate because I was hungry. Will not be ordering here again.
Great customer service, but this is NOT jerk chicken... jerk sauce taste like baby rays spicy bbq sauce. I mean I love BBQ but its NOT jerk sauce! Rasta Pasta NO!!! Chicken was cook but it just was not what i expected! I would not return or refer anyone for a jerk chicken meal here!!
Ordered the Oxtails and Jerk boneless chicken & pork combo, both with rice and peas and extra sweet plantains. Absolutely delicious. Oxtail stew was tender, flavorful, and just perfect. I wish we got more sauce on our rice though. Definitely request for more oxtail sauce and curry sauce with the jerk. Will order again soon!
Great food ? I always enjoyed my food and experience. Most authentic Jamaican food in JC. Not really a lot of options in JC but been coming here for a few years now!
I would like to start off by saying seeing the owner bad mouthing and calling customers scammers is HIGHLY unprofessional and is a huge reason I’m no longer eating here. Says a-lot about management already. It was decent but the prices are insane for the portions you get. The food itself was good but not good enough for the prices and portions.Probably can get more from Golden Krust for less with similar quality.Spanish restaurants serve very large portions for 8-10 bucks. There is a Caribbean restaurant downtown for similar prices but with larger servings if you want your money’s worth also very good. Nicoles is the name. You walk out with a very small serving size for 20 dollars at this place. I ordered the ox tail dinner for 20 dollars for reference. These are suggestions for those wanting to get what you pay for.But if you do eat here, be ready to pay a hefty price for small sizes and okay food.I’ll support black owned businesses further when the quality meets up with the prices and service until then not worth the price just because of their race. Also, customer service and experience is non existent here. I felt like a nuisance walking in to order. Very thick and uncomfortable atmosphere.
Great please to go to.. I met my wife here and that was her first time there.. It’s crazy because that is my favorite place to go. I love their Oxtail, oh and they helped my family by employing one of my family members. They have been so helpful and supportive to the community. I wish my words can encourage people to try them out — businesses have ups and downs but for some of the reviews I read it’s unfair that you guys try something one time and grade the entire business but I bet some of you return for more ??♂️ that’s so sad… there are people in this world that makes decisions solely on reviews. I recommend “NEVER” to ‘Judge A Book By Their Cover’ this is a family business and they are for the community! Reviews can make or break a business. Be supportive and understanding, do not bring your bad day to a place that provides you comfort food! They have done a lot for the community and encouraged me to do the same — so I am with all my businesses.
