Great neighborhood bar for catching up with colleagues or friends. Standard American fare. Best part of this place is the Sports menu on the offering, proximity to waterfront and only one of the few bars available in the area with the exception of Iron monkey that’s good.
Greene Hook is a good place to go with friends to watch a game and linger for hours. We had the Hook burger and Fat Joe sandwich and they both were flavorful and filling (generously sized sandwich for sure). Though the chicken was fried it wasn’t too greasy and had a nice crunch. The bourbon bread pudding is delish - especially the ice cream.
Excellent food and service! This place does it right! We have lunch and poutine appetizer. The poutine was as good as in Montréal! The sandwiches were tasty and well prepared. The drinks were potent and the prices were reasonable! Cannot wait to return here again!

Great service, delicious food, and really good strong drinks. This is a wonderful place to casually meet up with friends for dinner, late drinks, or even a date night. Its never been too overly loud at the random times I've gone and the staff has always been friendly and attentive. This is my go-to place if I'm ever craving a good martini in JC.
Stopped in twice over a long weekend. Great food and service both visits. Half price oysters for happy hour all week!! If you're in Jersey City don't hesitate to drop in!
Great service & pretty good food!Came here for a date night & the food was pretty good my boyfriend enjoyed his meal I got the jalapeño Mac & cheese I thought had better expectations it was too bland for me, looked great so I assumed but i needed more seasoning & more flavor for sure! The drinks were super good tho! I’d come back again
Stopped in today for Happy Hour and the hostess was kind enough to find a seat for me at the bar. She asked me if I was here to watch a game and spoke with the bartenders to put a game on the television that was closest to me without me having to ask.The bartenders were kind and courteous, I have to say the service was fantastic.The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because I noticed a man berating the hostess. I found out it was the owner because I was sitting so close to him that I heard his conversation with the hostess. Several times he got out of his seat to scold the hostess, who quite honestly was doing a wonderful job. I literally stopped in to watch the end of a soccer game, but I was so distracted by the owner's demeanor and attitude that I will not be coming back because of how he treats his staff.
Great service great food. Best poutine. We traveled from md the night before a cruise. Can't wait to go back. Creative cuisine. Hip and comfortable atmosphere. Lots of smiles and all staff that passed by spoke and asked if we needed anything even made me a special drink not on menu
Went yesterday for lunch and the food was so terrible, I ordered the fish sandwich with fries and my fiance order the steak sandwich with fries. The food tasted like someone who just started cooking made it. We took one bit and left.The busser who gave us our food, was not wearing a mask, the food took so long to come although it was just us and another couple. It was an waste of money and time.
