Decent sushi restaurant which is more oriented to a clientele on a budget. Service was adequate and the food generally good. I recommend it.RB
East Hana is a great little spot for clean Japanese food without breaking the bank or your ears. In my opinion, too many Japanese places these days play music so loud that it makes you go deaf. This place doesn't. It's minimalist and clean. The sushi was very filling and the fish was clean. Service was also fantastic. The owner and staff are a hard working bunch with great personalities.
Absolutely delicious! The owner is so sweet, great spot to try! Will definitely be returning.
Really good Japanese restaurant and surprisingly economic for the quality of the food. I really enjoy the food the miso Ramen soup was amazing and the sake was really incredible. I really enjoyed also to talk with the manager of the restaurant. I'll definitely be back???
FOOD and SERVICES WAS TERRIBLE. Green tea tastes like tap water. Rolls tasted below par with overly dried Shrimp Tempura. Wasabi was discolored. Pickled ginger was dried out and stale. When we brought the attention to the staff who came to run our credit cards, she acted indifferent and ignored our concerns. Never going back to this place again.
Broth was a bit weak. Tuna sushi had actually zero flavor to it somehow. All edible but not worth it.
This place has fresh and tasty sushi, but I wish they were more explicit about items on their menu. I have a mild soy allergy, so I try to avoid having too much of it. When ordering online I usually double check the menu to make sure Im not selecting anything with edamame or soy wraps. I decided to order the Oh My God roll, and did not select any substitutions. I was surprised to see the roll came wrapped in soy paper and not seaweed, which isn't mentioned on the menu on their website. I peeled off the paper from each piece and ate the deconstructed roll, but that wasn't worth the price I paid.East Hana, please be more mindful of people with allergies with your menu and substitutions. I want to keep ordering, but not if I have to eat deconstructed rolls.
**COVID EDITION**Was too busy enjoying the experience, I forgot to take some pics but have to say this is one of the best sushi I've had around the area. It's located around the corner and has the door locked but don't get the wrong idea! The owner said they've had some weird experiences with delivery people so they lock it for safe keeping. Sucks to have to wait until someone opens the door but it's definitely worth it.Got myself a lovers boat between two people and it was a lot bigger than I had thought - and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Also had some warm sake on the side but note that they don't have much alcohol options (for now).Overall food was very delicious and filling - 10/10 would recommend!
The sushi and miso soup were delicious, and I enjoyed trying the special rolls. The only downside, though, is that the prices were a little high. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who’s interested in Japanese food.
Excellent food, the best sushi place in NJ , staff and the owner very nice, excellent service! Definitely going back! Highly recommend!
