Food is alright. Usually order dumplings. But these guys practically have a heart attack if you ask for spicy oil. ? Try it. They will give you the soy sauce and the sweet sauce before they give up their precious spicy oil. My sole reason for buying dumplings is to enjoy them with the spicy oil. Not going to order from this place again. You can keep your dumplings and your spicy oil to yourself.
I've been here a couple of times and was quite satisfied the first few, but today I ordered my favorite, the fried pork over rice, and it came with mostly bones or over fried pieces... I usually don't eat much, and yet I was hungry because of the small amount of edible meat I got today :( a bit disappointed, for the price ($12.50) compared to other options in the mall, it felt like not good value.
Dumpling Cafe has one of the most authentic Taiwanese/Chinese food in Jersey City. I’ve been eating there almost every week since I moved to the area last year. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and the food the been consistently fresh and delicious. The price is also very low for what they offer. The owners are also very friendly. I’ll definitely continue to support this business and highly recommend it to anyone who wants authentic Chinese food.
Food is good here. Only problem I had was, when asking for more sauce, I had got an reply of“ u want more sauce!? There’s a lot already”It was a really chubby Asian guy with glasses.Might be saving the sauce for himself
Taiwanese beef noodle was really good. I’m from Taiwan and it’s on par with the ones in Taiwan.I’d come here again for the beef noodle. The soup was very flavorful and the noodles soft and also had the flavor sinked in. And the beef was really tender and delicious. Overall, really good
didn‘t like the dumplings, the dough is too thick and not very fresh, was disappointing :-(
We had a day after wedding get together at our place and the original plan was to order some soup dumplings as a side, since they are typically a crowd pleaser. We ordered from Dumpling Cafe when we found out our usual Hoboken soup dumpling spot didn't open until 5 pm on Mondays. We got 7 orders of the pork soup dumplings. Each order comes with 5 pieces and they're each served in its own little tin pan, which really helps keep the dumpling intact. Everyone loved it, especially the presentation (since other places typically just serve it all in a plastic container. They were the first apps to be devoured.I wouldn’t mind getting some more soup dumplings from here again. I also saw they have roast pork on the menu, and I’m intrigued since there aren’t any good Chinese BBQ places in the Hoboken/JC area.
5 stars for Taiwanese beef noodle. Authentic!
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. A big hygiene issue. I was here yesterday and the lady who worked at the counter touched the food with her bare hands. Yuck!!!! Plus she didn’t know how to be polite in her conversations. They should be ready for a hygiene inspection.
Great service, but be aware that if you tip with the card on their iPad, the tip goes straight to THE OWNER’S pocket! It’s a real shame!
