Went there for the first time. I just would like to say something: you guys make the best Italian food ever! Everything is fresh and delicious! The place is simple but makes you feel like at home. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect spot to hang with friends or to have a date night.

Their changing seasonal menu never disappoints. They know what they’re doing when it comes to food and atmosphere here. The ingredients are fresh and prepared with so much attention, care, and pure love. Every meal I have here is memorable and delectable. When my partner and I began planning for our small wedding, we knew the most important thing to us would be the food. We also wanted an atmosphere that felt like a family home, warm and inviting. Corto checked off all the boxes for us. We booked the restaurant for a Friday night and invited 38 guests. We held our ceremony on the pergola, a cocktail hour inside and had our reception outside. We worked with Love Wed Collective (from right here in JC) and with the help of Corto we had a gorgeous celebration. While we were confident in the restaurants ability to make an amazing meal for our guests, any kind of wedding planning can be stressful and comes with a lot of questions. Matt was amazing throughout the entire process, from start to finish. He was supportive when the COVID spike overwhelmed me, he was patient when I had a million questions about setting up/meal, he was thoughtful in making great suggestions for helping the night run smoothly. He was truly so helpful and integral to the success of our wedding!Everyone, even our pickiest of eaters raved about the food, which wasn’t a surprise to us...I mean it is amazing. The staff here is remarkable; they made sure everyone had what they needed and made us a feel like family. We wanted to start our marriage in a place that represented love and warmth, while recreating the delicious intimate meals we have shared as a couple. We were successful in this because of the amazing staff at Corto.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING homey Italian restaurant. BYOB really just makes it that much more amazing. No uncorking fee. Rotating menu. Super cool ambiance with open kitchen and available outdoor seating. Waitstaff is super attentive and sweet. Do yourself a favor and get everything on the menu. You won’t Regret it

We took my daughter here for her Birthday. We loved it. Homemade pasta homemade ricotta cheese omg excellent. They make a ricotta honey toast that is unbelievable. I usually don't care for ricotta but this was different and delicious. The incrusted bass fish there are no words to describe how delicious it is. Definitely will be going back. Did I tell you it has outside seating which is so pretty. Unfortunately there was no room for us so we sat inside. Either way it's a great place to eat.

Visiting our son and daughter in law last weekend in Jersey City and had a fantastic meal here. All dishes were delicious, so fresh, homemade pastas outstanding, sauces perfect, very innovative dishes. Delicious Sea Bass andeach bite of pork was so tender. The best meal we have had in years. BYOB is nice feature. They concentrate on preparing and serving the best food. Wish I could eat here once a week but too far from NC! What a gem of a restaurant.

Went to celebrate my son's birthday. This tiny (reservations needed -- BYOB (no uncorking fee) was extremely and brillantly unexpected. Limited menu which was part of the experience. Open kitchen where everything is cooked and prepared at that moment and served as made. Appetizers seemed "farm to table" fresh and very different. Loved the ricotta & Honey toast and Meat and Cheese platter. When items brought out, server explained them as well. Tried 3 pastas...all were flavor-filled and delicious. Order all 3 main entrees offered. The black bass was out of this world as was the white bean puree and spinach. The pork stracotto was extraordinary and fell off the bone. Polenta was perfect! The angry chicken was our least favorite -- as it seemed like a typical dish you could get anywhere. Desserts of apple cider cake and lemon curd cheesecake were outstanding. The chocolate olive oil cake wasn't a favorite nor was the ricotta strawberry balsamic ice cream -- too many flavors for ice cream in our opinion. While the pricing was a bit higher than typical -- it was worth the food experience and the service provided. Will definitely visit again.

Corto is probably the best restaurant in Hudson county in terms of cuisine. But hey, don't take my word for it... Try it for yourself! The menu changes regularly, featuring an array of stripped down Italian classics (not Italian American, actual Italian). The pasta is all made in house, and all the dishes are sources locally if not house made. The dining room is relaxed but still chic. The staff are warm and generous. I can't recommend this place enough.

We tried all of their appetizers and desserts. Our favorites were the parsnips (with white bean paste), octopus, and their salad. Both their olive oil cakes were delicious, and their cheesecake was incredibly light and creamy. For entrees, I got cannelloni (cheese-filled pasta with a green sauce). It was amazing, but I liked my friend's lumache (with mushrooms) even more. That dish was salty and up there with the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten.

Rigatoni and octopus app!
