Always great. Been coming here for over a decade and the quality has remained the same. Highly recommend the grilled chicken on garlic bread with roasted peppers and fresh mozz and balsamic. Mind blowing. Eggplant rollatini is also fantastic. Honestly haven’t had a bad dish here but those are my absolute favorites.
I am new-ish to the neighborhood and I've always been meaning to come in, but my job works a little later and I've never been able to catch the restaurant during their hours.I came in yesterday and ordered a prosciutto mozzarella sun-dried tomato balsamic sandwich and I can tell you hands-down that I almost cried because it was so delicious.I went back to the counter and introduced myself and I met Carmine himself and he welcomed me to the neighborhood and said to come in anytime and then he'll take care of me and that he has anything I want in terms of home groceries.he asked if I liked lentil soup and he packed me a cup of soup to go.i'm coming back and I'm bringing all my friends. A class act and an example of what a great business should be!

Living by Lincoln park, and having family living NEXT to this place I’m surprised we have never been until now. And it was so good we went back. This place is so delicious. The owner came out and greeted us and gave us amazing hospitality. The food was omg. I got the prosciutto, salami , mozz and balsamic with sun dried tomato. My husband got the chicken parm. Both were freaking good we ate it there and wanted more. We ordered again this week and I tried their Monday special: tortellini Alfredo with chicken and my husband got once again chicken parm. Omg I loved it so much. We got garlic bread too. It’s hands down the best Italian place this side of jersey. It’s so good. Like beyond good.
Fantastic Italian deli! I love the chicken cutlets from here. Last time I tried their potato croquette and it was delicious. It gets a solid lunch crowd so I’d recommend ordering ahead and it’s cash only!
I had the eggplant parmigiana. It was terrible. The eggplant was so old and unfresh that it was grey/black. The taste was just as bad as the eggplant look. How unprofessional can a restaurant be to serve food like that. The vodka sauce on the pasta taste like beef-a-roni. The only thing that taste decent was the bread that came with the meal.
Carmines is an amazing Italian deli. Their food is fantastic and consistently great tasting. They have the best prosciutto w/motz and peppers sandwich as well as the chicken parm sandwich. The bread is perfectly done. A lot of the food is made fresh daily, from the sauces on the pastas to the chicken soup broth. It tastes as good as it did 14 years ago. The service is great, but you gotta be efficient. Cash only.\\nThis place should be on every foodies list of places to try.
OUTSTANDING! Very small place, mostly take out and delivery, but the food and service are A1! Carmine, the owner is a GREAT guy. Always remembers you. You'll love it.
Everyone swears they are the best. I’ve tried them a handful of times and was disappointed every time.They always mess up my order. Got the chicken franchisee sandwich with motz…. No motz and a thin slice of chicken was pretty much all bread. Got the chicken parm with vodka sauce…no vodka sauce. Regular marinara. Overrated 100% I was heated. Never again.
Food is very good, good portion for your dollar and authentic, cash only no debit card or credit card, so make sure you have cash on you because you will love the food.
