This is a lovely artisanal Italian bread and bake shop in the heart of jc. The place smells divine with all the fresh baked goodies coming out front. Tried the bombolinis, chocolate almond cake, maritozzi and the sourdough. Can’t decide which one was the best as everything was equally good. Must visit and highly recommended
A great find - small place you would not expect in the neighborhood !! Amazing food that is available only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - the breads are amazing, the pizza is worth it and simply love the service - all in all a great place to grab a sandwich/pizza !! No substitutions it is what it is and it is delicious ?
Quality is great and the folks at the counter are helpful. Carry a lot of good ingredients to buy. I ordered the half Rossa pizza and Baked Ziti, plus an Italian soda based on their recommendation. Ended up being close to $50 which is pretty stiff. The Rossa was good with 6 square slices - crunchy and covered in olive oil. The Ziti was really good too, but for only a small portion at $18, very pricey. I didn’t get the sandwiches / paninis but they ranged from $13-$18. They looked really good though and closest in line with the paninis we had in Italy (most places in the US don’t even come close).Hard to justify it for me - it was good overall but not great, especially for the pricing.
Super high quality handmade breads, baked goods, sandwiches, pizzas and pizza-like things using artisanal ingredients... unique and different to the neighborhood. Menu is seasonal and always changing... follow them online to see what they have and when they are open. Order ahead online if you don't want to wait in line...works very well. Highly recommended neighborhood spot.To those people who don't get it and feel the need to compare it to the numerous pizzerias and deli's around the neighborhood...many of which are top-notch and very popular and open all the regular expected hours... Bread & Salt is doing something new and different for those of us in the neighborhood who wish to have something that is not the same all the time. Those places are great and everybody has their favorites, but sometimes you desire a change and want to taste something new. Those reviewers saying they're using cheap tomatoes and whatnot just don't know what they're talking about as that's just a lie. They are very up front about what they use and they use very expensive ingredients. You simply cannot charge the same for products made from them....it's simply not fair to compare them. If you can't tell the difference or the difference just doesn't matter to you, just go someplace else and enjoy...why the bad review for a place that works hard to please it's customers and clearly has their love and support? Long live Bread & Salt...kudos.
This pizza must be made from liquid happiness or something. The crunch, salt, and flavor is unbeatable and worth a trip over to the heights. Don’t forget to grab some dessert and maybe even a sammy to share. Perfect date idea is grabbing some food and going over to Riverview park.
Very popular trendy pizza and sandwich shop. The highly restrictive hours make it almost a chore to plan as a family meal. The day we went, their computer held our order for 20 minutes, so our pie was not ready when promised. The menu could be seen as only what is fresh as there were a lot of menu items that were unavailable. In 2022, almost everything can be had almost year round, so only 2 choices of pie was quite disappointing (one choice was just fancy canned crushed tomato). The oversized pizzas are packed in 2 boxes and were cold in the 10 minute drive to the house. Maybe the solution is to eat in the car right away - not worth that.
Outstanding foccocia and service at this hidden gem. Its across a nice park overlooking Hoboken and NYC from which to eat the foccocia, and even better bring your dog along! UPDATE: The maritozzo pastries ultra fresh double whipped cream tastes so silky and heavenly it rivals a buttercream birthday cake frosting I once I ordered in Bardi, Italy. Up there next to Chantilly cream used in lobster tail pastries. It is named after a husband and it is like getting a kiss with every bite!
Great pizza! Usually cheese pizza is my least favorite but their cheese pizza is incredible. I just wished they were open on more days.
The worst pizza we’ve ever had. They literally just poured cheap tomatoes and cheese on a burnt, greasy sheet of bread. No seasoning, herbs, toppings or anything! Not deserving of the hype.Serious question...Is the excess grease meant to help people swallow this mess down?
This was freaking incredible. Some of the best bread I have ever had. I had the burrata, bottarga and artichoke sandwich. It was so amazing I didn't even take a pic. The focaccia is a must have! Try me on this!
