We stopped for latte and their bulgogi. Got terribly low quality coffee that was also as hot as lava. Zero utensils. Asked for utensils got one set (it was two of us). One plate — we ended up using a napkin as a plate. Zero attention to customers and yet person serving tables was on her phone practically at all times. Anyways — wish we could rate higher but can’t go more then 1-star.
Go there everyday while visiting family in the neighborhood. Never a problem with the food, drinks or service. Always helpful and food prepared quickly to my satisfaction. Look forward to my daily visits.
My food has almost never been accurately made… the bagels are like grocery store Thomas bagels, and even when you ask for it toasted, it won’t be. The breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito are hardly edible. If you have any special requests for your food, don’t even try to ask for it - they won’t be able to do it (yet will tell you they can). My husband and I are also pretty certain we got food poisoning from something we ate here, so we will not be back. Disappointing because it would be nice to have a good local spot for breakfast.
Cute vibes and atmosphere with wifi and indoor seating available. The drip coffee was burnt though. The latte was good. I would prefer having my coffee in mugs over to go cups. And there was a good selection of food too but I didn't explore that option today
Get lunch here several times a week. Delicious veggie options , juices and good coffee. Very friendly staff! Highly recommend the Bibembop.
Got a bacon egg and cheese bagel for breakfast, somehow cost over $9, very average and definitely not worth the money
despite some bad reviews this is one of jersey city's best cafe's and i would definitely recommend to anyone either residing in JC or visiting.The staff is very friendly and hard working the cafe is family owned and always provides good food and drinks for a reasonable price.i would get this over any chain any day of the week.
I went in for a smoothie and to meet a friend and the bathroom was not operational and it smelled really bad in there
Food and coffee are good but the staff is not! There is an older East Asian man who works the front with a snappy attitude. The employees are constantly lying about the bathroom and picking and choosing who they allow to use it. This is all encouraged by the owner, who sits in her BMW outside the shop watching and complaining about “McNair kids” (a neighboring high school with open lunch) using their bathroom during their lunch break. I feel for the employees, it is evident they are very hardworking individuals. Who are forced to make lies and deflect because the owner has abruptly decided certain people are not allowed to use their Public Bathroom. As a loyal customer of basic who has spent countless dollars supporting this business, this is very disheartening. These “McNair kids”are paying customers and deserve to be able to use their bathroom!
I came here once with a friend and loved it. I enjoyed the tea and pastries that I got but when I got up to use the bathroom there was a sign that said “restroom out of order”. They told me that the restroom was broken and needed to be fixed but a month later and the same sign is still there. Isn’t it illegal not to have a working restroom for patrons?I refuse to spend my money on food where I can’t also use the restroom when I need.
