This is the first time I tried this place which did not end well with the food. First, the food i ordered was a chicken tikka, and it was so much salted that I couldn’t finish eating. Also, my friend’s chicken fried rice tasted like a salt dish as well. The server who took the order was mean so that he got easily ticked off when I asked him a few options that I was questioning about their other food items. Personally, I wouldn’t go to this place again.

Food is good but beware of the unnecessary and unfair charges. Please make the menu you have is up to date. We were handed over an outdated menu and later they aggressively chalked it over saying the online menu is the correct one. We were really pissed about the mandatory charge of 18% (regardless of the number of people in the party dining). It shows up on the check as "Tip" and you are not told in advance of this charge. If you question this charge, they become aggressively defensive about their policies. I felt very unsafe since the girl at the reception and another server started yelling at me. Feels very sketchy business place to me given their business practices. Will never visit again.

Delicious and authentic food, elegant setting, prime location, but…Amiya exceeded my expectations. The food is authentic, pleasantly spicy, high-quality and served in generous amounts. I had the samosa, paneer shilksa and tandoori appetizers. The Hyderabad goat curry, naan basket, and basmati rice for dinner. All were exceptionally good- we couldn’t stop eating even when we were stuffed. Best of all, the bill was much lower than I expected! The restaurant itself is very elegant. The Exchange Place location is right by the water and the views of the Manhattan skyline are the best in NJ. After dinner you will want to grab and ice cream and take a stroll. All-in-all, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. However, the service is very…slow! And communication from the servers isn’t that great.

5 star all rounder. This is one of the few restaurants that I have been to who accommodated the guests at business closing time. We went almost at 11pm, they warmly greeted and assigned us the table. We ordered the food at lightening speed and hats off to them it came in flat 15mins. The taste was out of this world. Speedy, friendly and professional service was the crowning jewel for this restaurant during our visit. Shannon 3 cheers to your professionalism. Keep up the great job guys.

Saturday night at Amiya’s was very much disappointing. Kali mirch tikka from appetiser had no taste… it was totally bland.Tandoori roti was too hard and chewy. Kadhai paneer - the veggies were undercooked… no taste. We hesitated to order anything else…Wish we could have just opted for cart food istead!

Great experience!! I’m giving it 4 rather than a 5 just because when I went in the winter time it was extremely cold in here & it felt like no heater was on!We did smell the food from outside & we were like WE HAVE TO GO! As we did the food did not disappoint at all!! The drinks were fantastic as well! But I was trying rush because it was just that cold in there! I’m excited to go back during the summer time! Great date night spot! Just near the water too! Perfect location the staff was really nice too! & we had the fried rice to go! Which was really good

Appetizers were not cooked well ( Half cooked). I could feel the batter from Gobi Manchuri that we ordered.I really liked the masala pappad , Malai Kofta and the Kulfi.I am giving a 3 star because the food was undercooked. The ambience is pretty good.

If I could this place a 0 star rating I would. As you can see from our food, we barely ate it as it was so disgusting. Let’s start from the beginning. We were seated and ordered appetizers. The appetizers came first and then we had to request the server to give us plates to eat our food in. We ordered diet cokes and they were literally run down in water. It was disgusting. The main entrees came and again we had the same problem. Had to wait 5 mins for the server to get the plates for us (and mind you it wasn’t busy, if it was I would have understood). The food was downright uncooked, tasteless, and pure disgust. Went to pay our bill and the lady was like the internet is down I can’t take card payments. We didn’t have cash but we waited for 35 MINS TO PAY OUR BILL. At this point I should have walked out but didn’t. The lady asked me to leave my card details on a paper and she would charge me tomorrow. I said I am not leaving my card details for anyone. Finally I made the payment to the lady’s personal Zelle just so I could leave the place. Walked out with my friend and swore never to return. This place used to be good now it’s just a sad excuse for food.

Quality restaurant, clean and fine dining in the city. The food is top class, tastes amazing, just tue way Indian Cuisine should taste. Great, friendly service and I personally liked the generous food they gave us. Highly recommend

Most Indian food tastes the same to me, but Amiya has managed to take the same old Indian restaurant staple dishes and make them lighter and tastier. The appetizers were amazing. Overall, delicious food, good drinks, and friendly staff.
