Where do I start....The customer service was impeccable ✅The food was Delicious ✅I stopped in before heading back to Texas and was able to speak to the owner. She spoke of possibly franchising, the importance of keeping the business intact and more. I told her I usually take pictures of the food if it’s good and post them. Unfortunately... I was soooo hungry when I got back home, taking pictures of the food was not on my mind! That jerk chicken, beans and cabbage was definitely worth the stop and I look forward to going back!!! Great job Lady??
Great service and delicious food. Impressive charismatic family owned business. Miss P is an one of the kind individual, very pleasant. A must try. It brought back home memories the taste of her food. Definitely recommend it. I'll go back.
At first glance, the outside decor wasn't appealing. As I walked up the steps and walked in, I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the restaurant. The friendliness of the server at the counter made me feel at ease. It was so clean, I wanted to sit down and eat but seating was blocked off. I ordered the small oxtail with rice and peas, cabbage and fried sweet plantains. The oxtails were to die for. The meat melted in my mouth and was so tasty that I couldn't stop eating it. The oxtail gravy was just right, not too thick and not too thin. You could tell the meat was cooked very well because there wasn't any taste of sugar. The seasonings were flavorful enough. The rice, cabbage and plantain were average but better than most Caribbean restaurants I've been to. I wish I ordered a large instead of a small! I'll definitely come back for the oxtail or give the jerk chicken a try.
I have been eating at this very popular Jamaican restaurants for over 3 years. The owner Miss P. as she is affectionate called. Is always welcoming and extremely nice. Her selection of authentic Jamaican dishes are just as great. You get the real Jamaican “yard” taste, flavor in all of the dishes. The jerk pork is very good. It is done on coal fired grill and smoked to perfection. The jerk chicken is just as good and smoked on the grill. Her other excellent dishes, curry goat, oxtail, stew chicken is served on really Jamaican styled rice and peas. There is a lot more to the menu selection. So check it out for yourself, you will not regret it.
My friends and I wanted to get Caribbean food and tried this spot. When we arrived I parked on the street in front. We walked in and was greeted. I ordered the stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. It was ready in about 15 minutes. When we got back we ate and the food was really good. I enjoyed the flavor of the chicken and the rice and peas was good as well. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. I will definitely return to this establishment.
I had been looking for a good Jamaican restaurant since I went to the island about a year ago. I just happened to be driving by Just Jerk and wow am i happy! Finally found a good Jamaican restaurant near me and the people there are so nice! I will be back! Thanks for the great food!
This is my last time going there. The prices don't match the potions.Especially the oxtails.. a small oxtail cost 20 dollars and they only gave me 3 oxtails.. again just 3.. and it doesn't taste that great. I want my money back? I'm going to stick with golden crust.
The food at Just Jerk is unbelievably good. Whoever is cooking the food knows what they are doing ?. I live in PA and drive to Irvington NJ to get the best west Indian food one can eat. I highly recommend this place.
