When I am on Hoboken, Ubu is the place that I go for lunch 80% of times.Cozy place and pleasant staff. The food is great. It is always a good time to eat there. I already tried from Rolls to Noodles and Udon. I love everything. Most dishes comes with a Soup or salad and the Hot green tea is a must have in all my meals there.
Ordered takeout. Sushi was not fresh at all and tasted off. Rolls were also super small. Shrimp tempura was soggy and has one piece of shrimp. No cucumber no avocado just shrimp and rice. Ended up throwing it out quality was so poor.
No, this is not where you get real sushi and sashimi despite the high rating… the cuts were sad and they put sweet sauce on sashimi. Their sashimi is like leftover cuts from sushi or something (and 1/3 the size or a regular sashimi). Fish isn’t fresh at all. The sushi rice isn’t right. Maybe the hot food is good, but my gyoza’s skin is not cooked through. This meal made me sad. Hoboken needs better Asian restaurants
I am a regular client & to inform some mishaps I just called them just to keep them informed the man spoke to me very rudely extremely rudely. He didn’t even try to understood my point instead of listening to me he started complaining about their own buy 1 get 1 policy and how they are not making any profit out of it ! Where I called him to make the Restaurent aware that sometimes Uber eats drivers picks up their food & they don’t deliver it to us not a complain just a information. You people try to listen FIRST ! That’s free of cost! Also humanity free of cost ! Also politeness free of cost! Be a human first & then try to serve others.
This is one of my favorite restaurants! My family and I have been dining at this restaurant for over 10 years. The food is always amazing, the attention from the staff is always superb, and the cozy-chill vibe in the restaurant is fantastic.
I enjoyed my pork ramen, loved the temperature of my food! Also the shrimp tempura roll was on point, and the fried Gyosa was tasty
Worst dine-in experience ever in my life. The waiter/owner was incredibly and impressively RUDE when checking out just because of his own issue(the restaurant computer was dead). The food is below average even in Hoboken area. If you have ever tried ANY Korean/Japanese restaurant in Fort Lee, you wouldn't think the food here is good.Reply: I understand exactly what the situation was at the moment. I was happy help you by paying with Zelle, Paypal or Venmo if you ever ASK normally, but what you were doing was keeping cursing, ordering me to take my card out without any explanation in the beginning and interrupting while I was speaking...Try yelling to other customers and see how they react to you. Your personality is even better.Anyway, this conversation is over. Good luck to your business.
The food is great and the owner is very friendly.
Our favorite go to sushi spot in Hoboken
I am not sure why there are a decent amount of positive reviews… I always make sure to check ratings however this has got to be the worst sushi I have had in HB. Very disappointed. Everything down to the spicy mayo did not taste well. Super pricy for the quality as well.
