Enjoyed some delicious cocktails at this Backrooms speakeasy-ish cocktail bar. Fantastic selection of drinks that are mixed to perfection. I had two whiskey based cocktails that were excellent. The ambience was perfect for a fancy first date.
Way better than I anticipated, especially based on my previous experiences at the sister restaurant Sorellina. We were seated about 25 minutes late for our reservation, but the host was able to put us at the bar while we waited and bought us a round of cocktails. All of the food was spot on (and we tried most of it). Wine list was awesome and affordable. The bar space in the back (where Maxwell's stage used to be) is vampy and a great place for a night cap. Highly recommend overall, but defiantly make a reservation.
This review is solely for drinks and I’ll come back and update when I come and eat an entree here. My partner and I came for a dessert and drinks. Our bartender Brookes was excellent, he anticipated my needs before I had to ask. To me, that is service at its finest. Thank you Brooke’s, we’ll be back because of you.
First time here and my experience was great. The atmosphere, service, and food, was perfect. I will definitely be dining here again.
Easily one of best seafood spots in Hobie. Delish oysters, lobsters, skrimp ?. Pricey but on point every time. Also they have creative spins on traditional seafood dishes.
Dinner for 4 on a Wednesday in January. Room and service were good but food is very very average. The flounder on brussel sprout salad was the best of 4 dishes. The broiled oyster appetizer and branzino fillet was not good at all. It was a hot table when it opened but its cooling down now that the food isn't living up. My local neighbors have tried it with a similar opinion. No repeat visits.
After our experience at Sirenetta tonight, my boyfriend and I decided we do not feel comfortable recommending Sirenetta to others and will not be returning. (Keep in mind - my boyfriend and I are not hard to impress… but this… this was bad… so bad that it warranted a review by someone who shrugs things like this off)
We had dinner here on Friday my wife and I .. first of all, You couldn't even have a conversation because the music was so loud. Next, the wine 48 $ bottle... trust me I'm a wine person and it tasted like vinegar. 75$ for Xmas menu and the food was super spicy ... scammed you for your money 75$ per person.. we spent 200$ and barely ate ... 3.50$ for blue point oysters.... the cheapest there is... the manager 4 stars out of 10. Save money and if you want fresh oysters go to stingray lounge one block away.... this place is a joke. Super disappointed.75$ for one oyster and shared plates ...regret going here.. save your money there's better places in Hoboken. Trust me.
The cocktails were poorly made with one seemingly missing the syrup entirely. The food was unremarkable with nothing to tie the flavors together in the dish. The spicy shrimp were not spicy at all. The linguine was dominated pepper and lemon flavors which were not even in harmony with each other. The concepts behind the dishes seemed good but the execution was poor.
Went here with a bunch of friends for lunch and ordered a bunch of appetizers. And here is the tea - Oysters were nice and meaty. The brie was the best part of our order, and the shrimp was good too. The octopus was cooked nicely, but I would probably swap it for Tuna.
