The owners have zero idea of how to treat customers. They will never return 1 cent on anything that is clearly off.They didn't get their order of broccoli one day and delivered tempura that was just sweet potato, eggplant and CELERY!!!!!! which the batter wouldn't adhere to. We "were" loyal and frequent customers but over a few cents, they lost us and others forever. So incredibly cheap and zero good business sense. Maybe it's theculture or just pure just low IQ
For someone that never write reviews, here I am. I've been a loyal customer at illuzion for quite some time! I introduce this place to so many of my friends and it kind of became our obsession. Well, today was the last day I stepped my foot in there. I've never complained about anything because there was no reason to. However, today one of the special rolls didn't taste right, something was clearly off, and me having such a great relationship with the owner, I pulled her aside to let her know. Her respond was " if you don't like it, don't order it next time". Rude but sure.... I was still hoping she would do the right thing, but she didn't. We got fully charged for the roll even though we didn't touch it. I chose a free of vomit night. Once the bill arrived I nicely asked her if she could take it off the bill since clearly something was off. Me and my friend basically got yelled at "the problem is not our food, the problem is you didn't like it". I've never been treated this way. Thanks illuzion for great memories and we wish you the best! And a little tip coming from someone working in a customer service, treat your loyal customers with respect. MB
Our “go to” place for sushi in Hoboken. Great sushi and service is fantastic.
Ordered pick up from Illuzion only because our usual place was closed this day. Ordered the spicy tuna tartare appetizer. It was a lump of mush, not a single trace of tuna. It smelled terrible. I wish I took a photo but it looked so terrible (like raw dog food) I immediately threw it out. I then ate the Spicy Salmon Roll. My stomach began hurting right away and was sick with sharp stomach pains and nausea throughout the whole night in to the next day. I will not be eating sushi for a long time because of this.
Sushi is good, but I had better.
First time there I thought everything was fresh and well served.
$9 Reg rolls had 6 pieces, the $16 rolls had 6 pieces and $22 rolls had 8 pieces, (quantities not mentioned on UberEATS - assumed 8 pieces for rolls. all the rolls were poorly made, understuffed and all packed together in 1 box even though they were separate items. even the ginger was dry. Really disappointing, not worth the value to other places in the neighborhood.
A bit pricey but the rolls are quite good. A go to place for good sushi in hoboken

Illuzion left a sour taste in my mouth. I was really excited to try their sushi as it was one of the few sushi restaurants in Hoboken that I haven’t tried yet. Last week, I went to go pickup my takeout order & when I got there, I was asked if I picked up the order 10 minutes ago. Turns out they gave my order to someone else. I had to wait an additional 25 minutes to get my order remade on top of the 30 minutes I had already waited.Tip for the restaurant: ask for the customer’s names when you’re taking an order on the phone. Mistakes can happen when you only take the customer’s phone number.The sushi itself was below average. The Philadelphia rolls had so much cream cheese that it reminded me of bagels from Dunkin that are notoriously always loaded with pounds of cream cheese. The rolls weren’t fresh, tasted mushy, fell apart easily, and I didn’t enjoy a single bite.
