We have been going to this chain since the 80's when the first Rosa Mexicano appeared on First Ave and 59 St. in NYC. Through the years it has been consistently some of the best Mexican food on the East Coast. We had dinner last night 8/6/22 at the branch at Riverside Mall in Hackensack, NJ. Something has changed and not for the better. The menu has been cut in half. Gone are almost all of the wonderful entrees and in their place are mostly either tacos or enchiladas. The pomegranate margaritas are still very good as is the handmade guacamole . For some reason the lighting was so dark that we could hardly see our food. The service was ok, but it took a long time to get our drinks. Usually they wait to bring the entrees until we have finished the guacamole, which is served as an appetizer, but this time they brought the entrees almost immediately after serving us the guacamole, There wasn't quite enough room on the table and it was very annoying to serve like this. The tap water brought to us in a tequila bottle was lukewarm. We had to ask for ice to cool it down. I am not sure we will return. This was not the old Rosa Mexicano that we loved for so many years.
had a great time catching up with a friend. great service, yummy food and drinks. cool aesthetic there too
Steak was not cooked to requested temperature, it was over cooked. Fish/ceviche was not chilled enough. Over priced for the quality. Automatically added 18% gratuity for a family of 5 - should be discretionary. We are about a large party over 6 or 8. And then app asked if you want to add more tip ⦠?!? Disappointing.
As always, the food was great. A long time favorite of ours.
Food and service very good. Great nachos. Noise level too high for me
I used to come here all the time pre-pandemic. Since the new change in ownership itâs been awful. Someone is running the place into the ground. Service was horrible and the place was empty. Food has changed and is mediocre. We will never go back.
Great meal. We always love the food! Service was great
Service was poor, food overcooked with barely a moment to catch waiter to ask for replacement. Worst of all the air conditioning was not working and it was a 90 degree day. We could not enjoy our food because we were sitting there sweating. Drinks were weak and overpriced . It was cooler outside.
First time and everything was perfect. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent Will definitely be back
Hostess could not have been less welcoming.
