We have been to this restaurant a few times and we generally like the food. Although it used to be better, like what many other reviews say, we do feel the taste is going down. I am not sure if this is due to the pandemic or the labor shortage. The service quality is now getting really discouraging. Yesterday, we order a dish that is usually spicy in the Chinese cuisine and it came out sweet and not spicy at all. We then asked the gentleman who was serving our table whether this should be spicy or they may have missed out the spicy sauce. He literally said this is how this restaurant cooks this dish and left without even further communication, which seems rude. We were surprised by his attitude and asked him again. He started to get irritated and repeated the same thing and ask: what do you want? This is shocking to me. We are OK with the dish cooked in a different as we understand that there are many genres within the Chinese cuisine. However, the way the waiter talked to customers was not professional. When we walked out we talked to the manager about it, he jumped out and started to argue again, saying the reason he did this was because he thought we criticized the dish. I don’t get it ~Anyway, personally I would not recommend this restaurant any more and would probably not come back.
What happened here??This place used to be great. The last couple takeouts have been bad!Got two orders of steamed dumplings…this was our go to for them….now they are terrible….over saturated with some bad quality grease that leave terrible after taste….had to trash the two containers! What happened?
We ordered from here for the first time and I wanted a noodle, but wanted to try something different… I ordered Chow Mein, which was fried noodles EVERYWHERE I looked. I received a soup-like dish with hard noodles in a plastic bag that said, “chow mein,” which I would think were for our soup.Anyway, when I called about it I was told that’s the way it comes and next time order Lo Mein. I did say I looked it up and thought it was supposed to be fried noodles, but was not going to argue. I was not offered anything else so I did not ask. Not the best customer service and most importantly, their Chow Mein is SOUP without noodles?!! …more like, NO Mein, lol.I gave two stars because my Husband ate it and said it was good… I definitely did not want it as I was expecting fried noodles of some sort.
The food is really good, no matter what you order. We especially like the wonton in spicy sesame sauce.Good service and very good prices.
Used to be a great restaurant (used to mainly do takeout). Very disappointed to eat here and realize everything has changed inside. I’m not talking decor, I mean the food and staff.I have experienced this twice with really good Chinese food places. Where exterior is the same yet everything inside changes and the food is also different. At least change the name of the place.
2nd time visits, deserved 5 stars
We had special fried rice and chicken wings fast delicious and the best around the areaPerfect will come back all the timeRecommended 100%. Good
My family would occasionally order from this restaurant in the past because their food was delicious and the most authentic. My dad would know, he used to be in the Chinese restaurant business back in the 90s, and comes from a family of great Chinese cooks. This place was our go to for authentic Chinese cuisine, for actual Chinese dishes and not like the regular Chinese takeout nearby or something.I don’t know if the pandemic led to management, staff, and/or chef changes but their food isn’t that great now. At least the dishes we ordered. In general, some of the dishes looked very unlike what they should have looked like. Instead, they looked like cheaper food to serve to foreigners who wouldn’t know any better on authentic Chinese cuisine. For example, the pot stickers looked not like they used to. They looked like they could’ve been badly fried frozen food… they looked oddly thickly fried?? It was also very hard. Same with any other fried type of food we had, they were all on the tougher side. The duck didn’t have much meat, and the wrap for it was oddly large. We also got something that we thought was soup at first, which was confusing because we hadn’t ordered any soup. But after opening it we found it to be a meat dish that we ordered. The meat dish was supposed to just basically look like meat in sauces but the sauces were so abundant and watery that it looked like soup. Taste wise it was alright, it was just a bit odd seeing the dish look like that. While I guess the food wasn’t like horrible, it was pretty bad compared to what it used to be like. It’s starting to seem like any other Chinese food place… so I’m giving it a one star as we weren’t satisfied and were quite disappointed this time. It wasn’t worth what we paid.
Not a good Chinese restaurant to Chinese at least, the food is not idiomatic. many food are liked just defrosted. And the amount of food is limited.
Truly uncool. I dropped in earlier tonight and got a table for one. I tried to order a spring roll and was basically told to leave because I need to spend at least 20 bucks apparently? What happened to this place? Beyond rude and what’s with the plastic plates? It’s hard on the environment and it’s unsightly. I’ll never come back.
