Not sure if they are under new management but they have definitely gone down hill. Unfortunately I had to write this review as a buyers beware, due to the over pricing, quality, and quantity of food. I was a regular here and use to love ordering the chicken, garlic shrimp and rice. This is my first visit in a while and I didn’t order the bbq chicken because it’s gotten smaller over time and very little meat, so this time I only ordered the shrimp and a side of rice. The rice was under cooked that it was still a little hard, and the shrimp are super tiny now, garlic sauce was different and both dishes were salty. This was definitely not worth $20, and it’s understandable to have to increase the prices do to the times we are in but the quality and quantity should never be affected.
Food was good, but didn’t like the fact that the price shown online/menu is different from what I was charged. If the restaurant is raising prices, and they do not update the menu, they should let you know when ordering.
We used to be BIG fans of this place and have been ordering takout from here for several years now. I believe it is under new management or at least has changed hands a few times since we started eating here but the quality and amount of food you get has gone down hill for sure. I am certainly not one to write negative reviews but I feel this has been a big let down for me and my family and so I thought I would let it be known that not only are they have gotten extremely cheap with the portions of rice, but the chickens they use seem to me miniature as there is barely any meat to be found. The last time we got our food home they included a drumstick that was literally that...a stick. Just bone and no meat on it. Also, they used to include pickled veggies which I loved but that has also disappeared. We have also noticed the flavor of the chicken has changed and not for the better. We definitely don't get our money's worth any more and for that reason It is with GREAT sadness that we will probably not be ordering from them anymore. Now to hunt for another BBQ chicken place!
Fast food BBQ. Not great but decent. No eat in space to speak of so plan to take out. I got the pulled pork, it was on a regular hoagie roll and tasted very bland. A brioche roll would have been better. The meat was juicy and tender but average in taste. Fries were soggy.
Ordered the beef short ribs and it was all fat. Couldn't even bite it. The fries that came with it were soggy from the grease dripping all over them. The spare ribs were extremely dry with barely any meat on them. We called grubhub to get a refund.
Ordered baby back ribs bbq with 2 sides,fried calamari and garlic pork chop with 2 sides as well ..pick it up right on time..opened the bags as I get home and found out ribs 2 sides are missing..call them and let them know and they are very kind but guess what ? No marinara or what ever sauce comes with calamari and no sauce for the ribs neither..I mean missing one thing is so much different from missing a lot of things..it’s just very disappointing..it’s irresponsible.
Other than Newark this chain is probably the most successful chain of Portuguese style authentic smoked pork and ribs platter in Jersey
The prices they have online and there current menu in there establishment are different by 5$ when I asked the cashier I was told write a bad review and hopefully the owner will fix problem you cant advertise a price on your menu for 18.99 then I go to pay and its 21.99 with out even being told.
The best bbq I have ever had
Awful dated food. Chicken sandwich had one tiny sliver of chicken it was all bread and was freezing cold and the French fries were ICEICLES. 11.50 FOR PURE GARBAGE. IM TELLING YOU STAY AWAY
