I was in the mood for Jamaican food and had this spot on the list. I ordered my food online. I ordered the red snapper and the king fish. A few minutes later they called me and said they had no red snapper and no king fish. Bummer! I went with the sweet chili salmon and the whiting. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby and walked in. I was greeted and told them my name. The nice young lady grabbed my food and handed it to me and I left. When I got in I dug in and the food was very good. The salmon was very filling and the sweet chili was very good. I also enjoyed the whiting. I had a good experience and would return.

NOTE: if you are paying with a credit card, restaurant passes their credit card fees to their customers, so expect to pay an additional 3.99% fee.My friend and I were in the mood for Caribbean food and I remembered that there was a Jamaican restaurant nearby. It is a small takeout place with no indoor seating. The menu is pretty big and the staff moderately friendly. I ordered large sweet chili chicken with oxtail gravy (extra charge), cabbage and rice. The portion is very large and filling. Chicken was crispy with an ample amount of seasoning, but the rest of the dish was lackluster. Both cabbage and rice were bland, lacking taste and salt. If you are very hungry, you will likely enjoy it, but if you are an adventurous eater who appreciates delicious food, this place will likely disappoint.

Came on a whim me and my partner and has a subpar experience. We walked into an empty restaurant 50 min before closing and the cashier is on a tablet and doesn't acknowledge us until about 1 minute of us standing there. Then kept repeating out order cause she wasn't listening. All we ordered was 1 large cowfoot and 2 sodas. Well, I seen the cowfoot and asked if there was more in the back since this was filled with all bones. She yelled to the woman in the back and was told yes. So bow another woman comes to serve the CF and I asked about the food in the back, she then proceeds to argue with me that there's no more even after she heard me ask and the reply I received. Anyways, she starts scooping and said she will skim the bones in the back and the chef came out and said she will see what she can do........ long story short I had 32 knuckles in my bowl with less than a 1/4 cup of meat total. We got to the car and tried our dish....... well let say I wasn't sure I asked for the right dish. It lacked texture and spice. Tasted like it was sitting in regular water honestly maybe a little cumin. Just bad. We had a terrible time fighting threw knuckles to get a taste of the meat. Won't be back and I assure you they will shape up after reading this. This was poor poor representation of your resteraunt. DR TATYANA

Love the jerk chicken

14 parish is a great place to go the food is very good, I would recommend the jerk chicken and waffles. The environment is very electric even on a lazy afternoon. The bartenders make really good drinks and very friendly staff. I would recommend getting some of their cocktails right after work. Sitting at the bar gives you a first person view of how they make their drinks and how they make it more appealing to the eyes. I didn't have to wait long to get a seat even though they were full of people. Loved the Caribbean music playing in the background it's a great place to meet someone or just out for a nice date. The dress attire that works here is nice casual and and in the evenings dressed up more works great. It has the feel of a upscale restaurant with a vibe that works for different age groups from 24-60. It's in the Hyde Park area so easy to get to and their bar has nights where they are open late. Many places in Hyde Park close early and if you want a nice mixed drink your choices are limited past 11pm. This place works any night of the week and just as good in the day time.

Highway robbery! They have the prices on the board but charge you something totally different….n the food is ight!

Best Jamaican food in Bergen County! The young lady who takes the order is fantastic! She displays excellent customer service and when I had an issue with my order she went out of her way and beyond to make sure I was satisfied before I left the restaurant. The owner is a great guy, always so polite. You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. Everything is delicious!

This is the ONLY restaurant I buy cooked oxtails from. WHEN they’re cooked thoroughly, they are delicious. But if you ever have an issue and report it RESPECTFULLY AND PERSONALLY TO THE OWNER IN A LETTER WITH EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER INCLUDED, don’t expect to be met with appreciation. I still have that letter and never a response, even when I called and asked to speak with the manager. That’s almost a year ago.But they will EAT YOU ALIVE ON SOCIAL if you comment on their daily Facebook stories. So, you be the judge. The food is usually good but service with a smile is reserved for a select few. Like the last time i was there and i asked if there were oxtails left. It was the end of the day. The cashier looked me right in the eye and said, “I don’t know how you people eat them. I don’t eat oxtails.” ??‍♀️ Comical.

I always go to 14 Parish Caribbean Kitchen to get my Ackee & Saltfish fix! It's healthy and tasty. The staff is friendly, courteous and professional. There are many types of Jamaican dishes to try, especially the standard Jamaican Jerk Chicken which is a must! Give it a try!

Oxtails, patties are all great. The jerk chicken is also excellent.
