Our Saturday night out. Our favorite dining spot. The grilled octopus was delicious. We were treated to a tasting of the most fantastic rice balls we ever tasted. We hope this will be a new addition to the menu. We both ordered the Veal Special and we were not disappointed- another delicious dish. Such a cozy, warm restaurant. The young servers are so welcoming and responsive.
Phenomenal. We have eaten there before. So we expected large portions. We weren't disappointed. We started with 2 apps and salads for 4 people. Like the last time, extra arrived. All courtesy of the chef/owner. Cheese and meats. Delicious. Along with the bread, oil and accoutrements we had to leave room for dinner. 3 of us ordered the lobster, shrimp special over pasta. The other person, allergic to shellfish had the short rib special. One diner wished her meal was hotter, the others were perfect. Then dessert, barely. We ordered the cookie sampler for the table. Again mass quantities as well as being delcious. As we were busting our belts, a cart rolls up ready to make Bananas Foster. Something I would have ordered if I had the room. We looked up and said we didn't order that. We again we told complements of the chef/owner. His generosity is unbelievable. We felt so bad leaving that dessert. The ice cream was on the dishes and the bananas were ready to be flombayed. But no room... The chef/owner met us at the door. We thanked him again and apologized for not being able to finish. A great place, with great food and phenomenal staff. Will be back soon.
Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. Service was exceptional, food was amazing. The staff provided top notch service working in unison to deliver a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend! We will be back!!
Food was really good. Nice size portions. Friendly and attentive staff. Even made us a complimentary dessert as they were training some staff.
The food is unparalleled in the area. For appetizers we had Stuffed mushrooms with a sauce I could have eaten as soup. The house made mozzarella is so fresh itâs actually warm. We also had meatball app, octopus and crisp salad. Entrees weâre steak (with a beautiful reduction) Milanese and salmon⦠all cooked perfectly. Desserts were table-side pep banana Foster, chefs trilogy of cakes. If you havenât been to La Cipollina you are in for a treat. The service was impeccable. The ambiance is cozy and authentic. Highly recommend.
This place is hands down the best authentic Italian food in Freehold! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves real Italian food!
had reservation for 815 which we arrived on time, sat down and waited 10 minutes for menus asked a few times and was told they were coming. we were asked what kind of water we wanted and I ordered panda flat (charged $10 which is the most I have ever paid in any restaurant I have ever dined at. totally outrageous) was told of specials which after we ready to order was told 1 of the 2 was not available. ordered meatball appetizer which was later told ran out of (imagine Italian restaurant running out of meatballs) overall meal was fine but won't go back and I live close by and its convenient just not worth the money.
Good food-expensive. Dark & tight small tables. âspecialsâ arenât told to you with prices. Waiter knew nothing of gluten free items, then we noticed indications on menu.
