This restaurant is a scam. After 18 of us got seated, we were told we only have 10 mins to order(waiter could have informed us before, we could have chose not to sit). Prices are relatively high for a Mexican restaurant. Plate share charges 9$. 4% for using a credit card for payment. There was a paper in the menu which said tips should be given in cash. Though the food was good, i wouldn't go back.
While I previously enjoyed dining at El Mesón, I was very disappointed to see a non-cash charge of 4% added to my bill. First, I’m disappointed that this wasn’t pointed out to me at the time of ordering. Second, the % is higher than what credit card companies typically charge restaurants for using their card services, which ranges from 1.5% - 3%. So the restaurant is making a profit when I use my credit card to pay the bill. Third, at a time when many restaurants are still struggling for business, they should not put in place practices that will discourage return business.
Love this restaurant! Me and my husband have been eating here for a while and they’re so friendly and the food is delicious. We have yet to have a bad experience. The waiters/waitresses have all been exceptional and we can always count of the food being nothing but amazing. I’m so glad we found this place and look forward to our nights out spent here. Authentic Mexican cuisine. Not a chain like food, just typical Mexican restaurant. Fast and friendly service. Great place to have quick dinner after workHighly recomended
It’s the most cute restaurant I’ve ever been in! There are hanging sombreros on the light fixture and little cute rugs on the table. Walking in here my first thought was this would be the perfect Mexican food date night! The food however really didn’t hit the spot. I highly recommend ordering from the special menu as it’s more traditional Mexican and less Americanized. However the atmosphere from the workers was very nice, light, and friendly! Fresh salsa and home made chips are also served on the table for free!*****
First let me say, parking is tough in this area of Freehold. Ummmm, not a lot of taste in what I ordered, except the salsa verde(acquired taste). Enchiladas ( steak, chicken & cheese), refried beans, sour cream & rice. I wasn't impressed, maybe a dine in is better then take out. Well good luck
The food was good, but not authentic Mexican. I'm always happy for minority businesses who are thriving! Definitely try it, but don't expect authentic food.
Food was amazing, the customer service?? if i could rate higher i would ! They were attentive, patient, helpful and just overall amazing , they worked together instead of having one person attend us, overall best experience ever and definitely recommend.
Been going here since they opened! Friendly and great staff! Absolutely our favorite Mexican restaurant and we've tried many..Foods always fresh n delicious !
Not a big fan if u r used to real good Latin food you will be disappointed plus its kinda pricey over 20$ person easy. Food lacks flavor even fajita meat no flavor . Chips salsa on point good atmosphere decent size portions . The gringos like it cause they don't know any better lol
