I used to give this place 5 stars. I recommended it to everyone I know...but now.. I will recommend to no one.Food and service has gone frome excellent to terrible. They changed recipes and not for the better. One example is the steak fajita. It lost all its flavor, its now a cheap cut of meat and doubled in price. I only took two bites. Most places would have noticed I didn't eat and asked me if something was wrong. But we were not checked on once the food came. They also water down all their drinks now too.So disappointing. They used to be so good. Such a waste of money.
Love this place. If you want amazing mexican food that actually tastes good definitely go here! They have specials throughout the week as well. The burritos and tacos are my favorites however, they have a big menu for those who want something else as well. The staff are very friendly and attentive as well. My only disappointment would be charging a “service fee” for credit cards. Its a new policy that was implemented during covid however, i dont think it’s beneficial to a business. It shows greed, but thats my opinion. Other than that everything is awesome at this restaurant!
The service and food were terrible. The queso was like bittersweet nacho cheese. The appetizers were over priced and ok not great. I ordered a double combo meal enchilada and chimichunga and it was terrible. I do not understand how this place got the rating it got. I will not be returning here. Also there was some women in there making these hideous balloon figures. I did not understand the point of here being in there. Some balloons would pop and disturb the entire restaurant.
Great food, good vibes. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Bar area as well. Had the fiesta salad with grilled chicken. Greens were fresh, Chicken nice and moist, portion was enough for a full meal. Guacamole is always fresh. Have had fish tacos in the past and would recommend those too! Throw in their awesome chips and some great margaritas... Can't go wrong! Only negative, premium margueritas are $15 a piece right now. Ouch.
Wow! Service is everything. It makes or breaks a place. The cliche holds true. "You don't realize you have something good, until its gone."We been dining at the Blue Moon for over a year. It's my quarterly visit; a special treat to myself when in Englewood, NJ.In the past, we had a fantastic waiter, Mateo; who made the experience and the time enjoyable. He was very attentive. Checked upon us several times to make sure we were satisfied.BUT...Mateo is no longer working at the Blue Moon and the service today was less than desirable. It sucked. We ordered and the waitress assumed we could not afford what we ordered. She quoted prices for the extra food. Mateo never assumed that we could not afford it. A good waiter/waitress does not question a guest, unless they are being selective. The waitress today did not return to see if we wanted our drinks refreshed. She did not question if we were satisfied. NADA. We didn't like it and it reflected in our tip. We ate. We left.Another difference we experienced was in the billing. There were 2 sets of charges, cash and credit card. If paying by credit, it was approximately $2.35 more. Did I miss the memo. Are restaurant charging like the gas stations, a price if paying cash and another price if charging to a credit card? ?. I think it's time for me to learn how to make Mexican food at home. It won't be the same. At least, I wouldn't have to be concerned with discriminating service and over pricing. I won't be returning to Blue Moon on my quarterly trips to Englewood, NJ.Mateo, you were missed.
We stopped in for a drink after hearing the music from inside. It was fun at first, but there was a 40th birthday party at a table. We requested music from Queen and gave the musicians $30 plus bought them drinks. We were totally ignored and decided to leave and asked for our money for the musicians back as well as what we paid for their drinks. My husband was very upset. The manager called the police on us which was uncalled for as we didn’t threaten or cause a scene. We had not been to Blue Moon in Englewood for a long time and wanted to have a fun time. We are local residents but will never go to Blue Moon again! I am not blaming the bartenders at all, but I am blaming the music and manager.
I used to hold Blue Moon in 4-to-5 star territory, but we've had some bizarrely uncharacteristic service during our past few visits:Exceptionally slow service, several errors on our orders, missing/forgotten drinks, and a couple others that I'd prefer not to specify here.I have been going here for almost 20 years, so I KNOW they can be great. Maybe it's a side effect of the pandemic?Either way, I hope things start looking up from here.
I had three delicious brisket tacos. Actually two was more than enough the third I had to take home and eat another day. It was just too much. My wife, on the other hand, had three shrimp tacos that she absolutely loved and ate all three all by herself. The service was extremely friendly and fast. We will surely be back.
Solid spot for classic Mexican dishes and juicy margaritas! The salsa is the perfect level of spice and the hardest part of being here is not overwhelming yourself by filling up on the salsa.

Shout out to Mateo not sur of spelling. The manager was very helpful also. Broke down everything we paid for. Will definitely return.
