Your FOOD QUEST needs to include a stop at The Birria Kitchen. Whenever I visit my buddy in this area, I have to come here.I've had both the Birria Tacos as well as the Birria Torta, and let me tell you, you NEED to get the Birria Torta. The closest I can condense this sandwich down to is: it's a Soup Sandwich. This is a sandwich that defies our physical plane of existence. The torta is structurally rigid, as a vehicle for conveying a sandwich, it serves it's purpose. However the true magic of the Birria Torta is that as soon as you bite into the torta, it's as if your mouth is transported to the Soup Dimension. The torta exists as both a sandwich and soup at the same time. You NEED to experience this. Each bite is a mouthful of comforting soup. Have you ever chewed on soup like it was a sandwich? No. Of course you haven't because it shouldn't be possible. However I'm telling you it does here.I've had the Tacos, Jalapeno Poppers and Bavarian filled churros and they are very good but not transcendental.Get the Birria Torta and tell them Cary sent you. You're welcome.
Delicious birria tacos.. a little spicy, but tolerable. I had the beef and thought it was great! Churros are incredible as well.
Had best tacos here. We took the beef and chicken cheese combo tacos. They were delicious, fresh, spicy and loaded with flavor. Ask them to make it less salty if you don’t like salt so much. But the best thing was the tres Leches cake. Fresh, juicy, milky and yummy ! I had eaten this cake elsewhere and found it loaded with artificial flavors which gives a synthetic taste but this one was the best and that’s why I m giving them 5 stars.
Tried this place for the first time yesterday and loved it! I went by myself after my class over at Middlesex College. Only about 10 minutes from MC! The lady that took my order was polite. The food was fresh and came out fast. Definitely going to be my new spot in Edison. Might need to bring some college friends with me.:)
When my bf agreed to come get Birria Kitchen with me today, I kissed him on the lips! That’s how this food makes me feel. The menu is concise because the restaurant knows what to focus on. It’s The Birria Kitchen! The food doesn’t travel well and will get soggy quick, but that’s expected for items like beef nachos and beef tacos that have lots of juicy ingredients in it. I’m picky about the texture of my food, so I learned it is best to dine in. If you MUST have fries, tacos, or nachos delivered/to go, you can make them crispy again by reheating in the oven at home. The beef birria taco with cheese is 100% better than beef birria taco without cheese. I prefer the beef fries over the beef nachos, but the nachos were still good. Never tried anything with chicken. The regular Elote is delish, but I’m curious about the hot Cheetos one. We’ll be back for the beef fries and beef birria taco with cheese.
The tacos are delicious! The drinks are refreshing, and the tres leches cake was amazing!! I'd even come by just to buy a large container if consome! Amazing stuff!
This Is Crazy Good…Words Can’t Even Described It
Finally got to try this establishment. It's a small Mexican restaurant with a very, very very limited menu. The main item is their Birria style of meat options. Either chicken or beef. The birria style meat are prepared more like a stew where the meat is tender. The tortilla are made fresh and sort of crunchy which I prefer. I order the combo of four with cheese ( two of chic5and beef). It came with a birria dipping sauce as well as a green sauce. It also included fresh lime and sliced red radishes. The cost was around $15 which included tax and credit card fee. The meal was tasty and not your typical taco. I was told this type of taco was more of a northern California style. They are planning to expand the menu with a vegetarian options. You can eat there. They have a few tables and the place was clean. The have several bottles of soda and juices, as well as a specialty beverage station. The restaurant is located within a strip mall. There is parking. Give it a try. Something different.
Agree with the review from Eli. Good enough Birria tacos but expensive for what you get. I spent $13.31 for four "mini" sized tacos. Again, they are not made from lamb like the authentic Birria tacos should be. They are made with beef. Second, the soup it came with is not great, actually not even good. It was tangy and missed the flavor.I immediately regretted spending $13 and coming out feeling Half empty. I don't think I will eat here again, just wanted to try once and I did, that's it.
Staff is friendly and the food is delicious! Will definitely return and recommend others to come try. The parking lot is small tho, so if you want it during work lunch hours best to get take out.
